Camera obscura (pinhole camera) Light travels in a straight line. So the light from the top of a candle passes through the pinhole and ends up at the bottom of the screen. The light from the bottom of the candle passes through the pinhole and ends up at the bottom.

He was 21, when he set of on his journey from his home in Morocco. The year was 1325 and he travelled for 29 year journey He travelled over 75,000 miles, figure surpassed by any individual traveller. Went through over 44 countries.

He met scholars, leaders, became a judge and much more. He gave us rare accounts of countries which no one had given eg. West Africa, Mali

In 1903 the Wright brothers had invented the first successful airplane. BUT 1000 years before them

25 Aged 47 he jumped from the minaret of the Grand Mosque in Cordoba using a loose cloak stiffened with wood. He hoped to glide like a bird. He didn't. 23 years later aged 70, using silk and eagles feathers he tried again, jumping from a mountain. He flew for ten minutes. Baghdad international airport and a crater on the Moon are named after him. Also…

26 Why were the Muslims so successful?
They fixed their relationship with Allah, so Allah fixed their relationship with everything else. Perfect your deen, then Allah perfects everything else. The Prophet (s.a.w) said “If leaders do not govern according to the book of Allah, you should realize this will not happen without Allah making them into groups and making them fight another” (Ibn Majah)
