Complimented the high level of ambition, the governance arrangements, the excellent partnership working with schools, and the work done to date to improve CAMHS across Gloucestershire that will provide a springboard for the delivery of the service improvements proposed. In particular, the Task & Finish Group

5 Expected outcomes of the schools project
Testing how to work best on a locality basis A more collaborative approach between schools and CYPS (CAMHS) Facilitate joining up of services Named individual as point of contact in schools & CYPS Building up confidence of school staff to identify and support CYP, but not to become mental health workers MH becomes everyone’s business in schools Children’s mental health services will have a better understanding of the issues that schools face and a more advanced collaborative approach between schools and mental health services to early intervention, including advice and guidance (and support and supervision) for schools to support their ability, capacity and confidence in managing lower level needs Test out primary mental health workers being key local system leaders to facilitate the joining up of services and activities available in localities, Facilitate seamless transition between support services when a child or young person’s needs either increase or become less intensive Use the opportunity to help develop and influence a joint training programme which will support improvements in outcomes for children and young people adapted to local circumstances and need

Two days training facilitated by the Anna Freud Centre- November and January Build a better understanding of mental health services and what schools need. DfE agenda for emotional wellbeing Named lead for wellbeing Identification Referral Support

Access to Primary mental health worker ring fenced for the schools until March 2017 Every two weeks face to face Via for ring back Training programme for schools Supported two VCSE organisations Family Lives- support schools with mentoring Active Gloucestershire- mental health awareness for coaches etc

8 Developing Action plan
Access to emotional resilience support for young people who self harm (BER service): YP supported in school (e.g. school counsellor) but concern that self harm behaviour is escalating Referral to CAMHS/CYPS service YP (school) Referral to BERs for support

BER service: Targeted support for young people who self harm Evidence based programme YP gain better understanding of why they self harm Alternative coping strategies developed with YP Improved outcomes for YP For 2016, referral pathway to BERs from: Stroud High School (as part of Stroud Schools project) 2 GP practices in Stroud Locality

10 Plan going forward Website for practitioners
Meet with schools in Stroud in 2 months to review action plan National evaluation by Ecorys Need to look at local evaluation and spread good practice to other areas Have very positive initial feedback from schools.
