Absences Always include Mrs. Hunt anytime your student may miss a rehearsal. Excused Absences: Religious Holy Days Student illness rendering them incapable of observation or participation Family emergency (Director approved) Examples of Unexcused Absences: Getting called into work or not finding a cover for a work shift Birthday party or celebration Concert tickets scheduled on a required Band event Attending tutorials without notice for directors to arrange options with teacher

Summer Band WHAT TO WEAR:
Athletic wear (tank tops, short-sleeved shirts, shorts, etc.) Athletic shoes (No converse, Vans, Keds, sandals, slip-on shoes, etc.) WHAT TO BRING: Instrument Supplies (dot book, mouthpiece, reed, extra reeds, oils, greases, etc.) Water jug – STAY HYDRATED! Sunscreen Healthy snacks

Summer Wellness “Failing to Prepare = Preparing to Fail”
Start Hydrating now (feeling thirsty is a feeling of de- hydration) Drink two glasses when you wake Drink two glasses before bed Do not skip meals (especially breakfast!) Drink gatorade and other sports-drinks Wear sunscreen every time you go outside Do not try to be the “hero” – if you are not feeling right, alert an adult The only reasons we have ever had a student fall ill is when they a) have a pre-existing condition or b) do not follow these guidelines

All Region Each wind player will be responsible for learning 2 (9th grade) or 3 etudes over the course of the Fall Semester There will be periodic check-point listenings for a grade – there will be a handicap for students in Symphonic or Concert Bands Students will get the opportunity to re-assess Members of Wind Symphony are expected to audition Letter Jacket eligibility is earned with success

Booster Mission Statement
The Band Booster Club is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help promote a better band, school and community spirit by volunteering our time and skills as well as provide financial support to fulfill the goals and objectives set forth by the Band Directors. With all these components to build the program our students will have an awesome band experience.

30th Annual GrapeFest® September 15, September 18, 2016 Historic Downtown Grapevine Time: Thursday, 10 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. 30th Annual GrapeFest - September 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2016 GrapeFest, held along Grapevine's Historic Main Street, is the largest wine festival in the Southwest. Some of GrapeFest's most popular events include the People's Choice Wine Tasting Classic, the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation; GrapeStomp; the Champagne Terrace; Kids World; Palate Pleasers at the Palace; GrapeFest Golf Classic; GrapeFest Tennis Classic; Italian Car Fest; five stages offering live entertainment, the Texas Wine Tribute and much more.
