1 TBA supports IM’s Operation Impact
Texas Buddhist Association (TBA) was invited to participate in Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston’s (IM) Meals on Wheels community-wide project during the weekend of May 21st. As part of IM’s “Operation Impact” program, these meals were personally delivered to 4,000 Meals on Wheels seniors’ homes across the Houston community in preparation for hurricane season to ensure that they have food and drink supplies in the event that their regular Meals on Wheels deliveries are interrupted due to the storm. TBA volunteer groups picked up those materials on May 21 at IM’s Downtown Office and made timely deliveries on May 21st , 22nd and 23rd to 54 homebound seniors in need of help. A United Way agency, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM), brings people of diverse faith traditions together for dialogue, collaboration and service. IM provides four main services including Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston, Refugee Services, Disaster Preparedness and Response, and Interfaith Relations. TBA has been a member of IM since 1994 and has enthusiastically participated in many of IM’s dialogues and charity events, as well as making momentary contributions to IM annually. In doing so, members of all religions have the opportunity to correctly understand the philosophy of Buddhism. TBA also takes this opportunity to appreciate other faiths and mainstream society, along with making contributions to the efforts of mutual understanding and peaceful co-existence among all faiths. Please contact TBA at for further information.
