2 EWB exists to: Raise awareness of the role of engineering in international development in the UK Undertake research at undergraduate project level Provide UK based training for students in appropriate technologies for the developing world Work with partner organisations to offer summer and year-long placements About Engineers Without Borders UK EWB UK is a student-driven, international development focused, charitable organisation

3 An opportunity to be involved in an exciting new stage in EWB UK – the first National Training Conference. The Conference will bring together 100 engineering students from top UK universities across the country to: Receive training for roles in the charity Attend workshops on topical development issues Participate in environmental volunteering Engage with professionals from the development sector Participating Organisations: Arup, Wateraid, RedR & RES EWB Conference 2006: Sharing Skills for Development Dates: 20 th – 22 nd October 2006 Location: Preston Montford Field Studies Centre, Shrewsbury

4 Meet motivated students with a Recruitment Stall Direct access to 100 high initiative students from across the UK, many of them preparing graduate applications for final year. 50% will be third and final year students. Showcase support of Sustainable International Development Illustrate your company as a leader in the area through the publicity efforts connected to the conference. Advertise to thousands of UK students through EWB UK website and posters Reach EWB UK members from throughout the UK from the national website, checked regularly by EWB UK members. Graduate Recruitment Opportunities Overview Target specific Universities with Travel Sponsorship Travel sponsorship subsidises the travel costs of one EWB UK university branch to the conference, allowing direct advertising of graduate opportunities to that EWB branch
