DLP Presentations Homework: Read “The Most Dangerous Game” copy down 5 quotations that show “conflict” and explain how the character or characters face/overcome/endure these conflicts. Be sure to cover the entire length of the story.

6 A Sentence A sentence must have a subject and a verb (predicate)

7 Verbs (Predicate) Verb—most important part of predicate Noun—most important part of subject

8 Verbs Verbs tell what action the subject is doing!!! The dog ate the potato chips. I ran to the store.

9 Subject The subject is the one doing the action! The dog ate the potato chips. I ran to the store.

10 Compound Verbs A predicate with more than one verb is called a compound verb The dog ate and slept. I ran and sang all the way home.

11 Easiest way to find the subject
Ask: What is the action? Then ask: Who/What is doing the action? The cat slept all day long? What is action?______ Who/what is doing the action?=______ Subject.

15 Friday, August 26, 2016 DLP/ Journal Discuss “Trickster Tales” Create an Interactive Timeline—on a PowerPoint t In groups of three, create an interactive timeline of major events in American as well as the rest of the world between the dates Your timeline should include at least one song, one short video clip, and at least seven pictures. Be sure to include at least three major explorers of America. After creating your timeline, please write at least one paragraph of at least 8 sentences expressing what you found most interesting and enlightening. Homework: Please finish any “lingering assignments” left in your possession.
