DLP Presentations Homework: Read “The Most Dangerous Game” copy down 5 quotations that show “conflict” and explain how the character or characters face/overcome/endure these conflicts. Be sure to cover the entire length of the story.

A Sentence A sentence must have a subject and a verb (predicate)

Verbs (Predicate) Verb—most important part of predicate Noun—most important part of subject

Verbs Verbs tell what action the subject is doing!!! The dog ate the potato chips. I ran to the store.

Subject The subject is the one doing the action! The dog ate the potato chips. I ran to the store.

Compound Verbs A predicate with more than one verb is called a compound verb The dog ate and slept. I ran and sang all the way home.

Easiest way to find the subject
Ask: What is the action? Then ask: Who/What is doing the action? The cat slept all day long? What is action?______ Who/what is doing the action?=______ Subject.

Be sure to include at least three major explorers of America. After creating your timeline, please write at least one paragraph of at least 8 sentences expressing what you found most interesting and enlightening. Homework: Please finish any “lingering assignments” left in your possession.
