About Flashpoint Testing
lowest temperature corrected to a pressure of kPa at which application of an ignition source causes the vapors of a specimen of the sample to ignite momentarily under specified conditions of the test. flash point values are not a constant physical property of the material tested; they depend on: Apparatus Design: open/closed cup Operational Procedure Operator (manually operated testers) 2. History CLEAR VISION SOUND STRATEGIES SOLID PERFORMANCE
7
A brief history of MINIFLASH
1990 US NAVY wants a SAFE & SIMPLE flash point tester: no open flame small sample size continuously closed cup automatic operation simple to use fast and accurate 1999 ASTM D6450 “Standard Test Method for Flash Point by Continuously Closed Cup (CCCFP) Tester” round robin leads to 2005 ASTM D7094 “Standard Test Method for Flash Point by Modified Continuously Closed Cup (MCCCFP) Tester 2. Peltier Protection Technology™
Protecting your investment Grabner Instruments Know-How: "Method and device for limiting the temperature of a body“ allows to control the heat transfer between heating and cooling devices Allows to extend the measuring temperature to well above 400°C (set to 400°C to match Pensky Martens range) Optimized thermoelectric regulation of heating and cooling for performance and lifetime External supportive cooling (e.g. with tap water) for low or for high temperature possible 3. Improvements CLEAR VISION SOUND STRATEGIES SOLID PERFORMANCE
15
Ignition Protection Technology™
Unmatched Safety Ignition Protection Technology™ is intrinsic to the MINIFLASH design. No open flame Continuously Closed Cup Only 1-2 ml of sample required Automatic explosion probing Controlled air feed Protects against fire and hazardous fumes 3.
