3 Our policy is based on the notion that a school uniform……
Is practical and smart Promotes a sense of pride in the school Provides a feeling of community and belonging Identifies young adults with their school Relieves pressure of choosing clothes to wear everyday and will be beneficial financially. Shows the local community that Plantsbrook students live up to their school motto “Be the best that you can be” in every way

4 Sixth Form Student opinions on uniform
Less effort to wear a uniform! I don’t have to use “MY” clothes for school!  People won’t come here coz of a uniform. You’re not treating us like adults! I don’t want to feel like a school student!

5 OUTDOOR COATS, HOODIES, GLOVES, SCARVES, HATS AND CAPS
All outdoor coats, hoodies, gloves, caps, hats and scarves must be removed prior to entering the school building. Permitted Coats can be worn outside of the school building Hoodies can be worn outside of the school building Gloves and scarves can be worn outside of the school building Not Permitted Coats, hoodies, gloves, scarves worn in the school building The only exceptions made would be for a hijab or turban worn for religious purposes, which must be plain and must not cover the school uniform. 6 TIES Permitted All students wear a Sixth Form tie.

7 SHIRTS/BLOUSES Permitted Plain white with formal collar

12 SKIRTS  Skirts should be worn from the waist and must be on or very close to the knee. It will be the school’s decision if we deem the skirt too short. 19 HAIR/MAKE UP/JEWELLERY
Hair: should be neat and tidy without decorative attachments. Extreme styles, unnatural hair colours, tram lines or other shaved shapes in the hair or eyebrows are not permitted. Make-up: Discreet, natural-looking make-up is permitted. False eye lashes are not permitted. Nails: Nail polish is permitted. Acrylic nails or nails grown to a length that is deemed a health and safety issue will need to be cut down. As a guide, when looking at the nail from the inside/palm side of the hand, the nails should not extend over by more than 2mm. Jewellery: No jewellery, except for one wrist watch and a maximum of one plain set of stud ear-rings, metal coloured, one in each ear, worn in the lower ear lobe. No other piercings are permitted. Retainers are not permitted. The only exception would be for a Kara. JOHN
