Jogjakarta is a city and the capital of Yogyakarta Special Region in Java, Indonesia Known as a center of education, student’s city, cultural city, gudeg city The city is named after the Indian city of Ayodhya from the Ramayana epic Yogya means 'suitable, fit, proper', and karta, 'prosperous, flourishing'

20 Foods GUDEG, Local Culinary From Jogja Made from young jackfruit cooked with santan and kluwak for 2 hours in a big pot. Santan is water got from extract coconut and kluwak is local flavor. Tasty gudeg will be out of this world if served with hot rice, vegetable, egg, chicken and krecek. Krecek is fried condiment mixing with santan and tempe.

21 BAKMI JAWA, Traditional Javanese Noodle Bakmi means noodles then Jawa is Java people. This kind of noodle made of chicken which not raising on purpose. The chicken usually live on the kampoong or villages. In Javanese, it called as ayam kampung.

22 JAMU GODOG, A Nature Tonic In the Javanese words, 'Jamu' means tonic which is made of medical herbs. And 'Godog' means boiling. Drinking Jamu is hundreds years tradition for Javanese. The ancestor was made by leaves, roots, trunk and many things come from the nature.

23 WEDANG UWUH, A Secret Recipe of Javanese Herbs made by local people from a local area named Imogiri, south Jogjakarta city. It's kind a unique and traditional drink from the ancient time. There are no sources which explained about the creator of the herbs. It's just like another popular drinks like 'wedang ronde' (drink made by roasted peanut), wedang jahe (drink made by ginger) and many others.

24 BAKPIA, Special Cake From Pathuk Bakpia is meal made of green beans and flavors. The color is brown and white. Jogjakarta has a certain area where famous as central of Bakpia Industry. We called it Pathok. It's located behind a famous tourist area named Malioboro Street. At Pathok, you can find many kinds taste of bakpia such as mung beans, cheese, chocolate, and black kumbu.

DAWET, Sweet Simple and Sensational Beverage Dawet is one of the most popular Javanese traditional beverages. Dawet also used the traditional and natural essences to keep it delicious such as pandan leaf to get the green color, merang (the rice straw of paddy) to get the black color.

26 ANGKRINGAN, Relax While Enjoying The Meals Angkringan very well known in various society of Jogja. Angkringan derived from the Javanese language Angkring, which means sit down to relax. And it is in fact angkringan ussualy used by people of Jogja as a place to relax and spend their nights in angkringan and take a chit chat with their friends or family.
