HP 840 G4 and ZBook 15 G4 3 year ADP* warranty MyMTI – Technology Tab ADP - Accidental Damage Protection Covers laptop and charger against accidental drops and liquid spills up to the value of the laptop. This warranty does not cover intentional damage, neglect, or theft.

4 Laptop Returns Laptop can be returned for a full refund until September 5th To return your laptop the box and packing materials must all be returned It must be your box for your laptop, each box has a unique serial number that matches your laptop Laptop cannot be damaged and must be in condition it was received otherwise it will not be accepted

5 Connecting to Wireless
Select MTI-Secure Best Practice Come to school with laptop off or restart your computer once you get to campus MTI-Guest and MTI-Setup do not have internet access, MTI-Secure is the network to be connected to for internet access on campus. Click here first

6 Connecting to Wireless
Allow time for the agent to open & run. The agent will make sure your system is compliant, then you should see the box to the right. Click OK and you are connected. The Cisco NAC Agent checks to make sure Your computer updates are turned on Your computer is up-to-date An Anti-Virus program is installed

7 Printing on Campus The MTI-SafeQ Printer has been pre-installed on your system Click print & choose the MTI SafeQ Printer The SafeQ Client box will appear Enter your MTI Username and Password Press OK NOTE: The dialogue box may pop up behind open applications. Please minimize open programs if the box doesn’t appear within a few seconds

8 Printing on Campus Not Here Place Card Here
Go to a SafeQ Printer located in various locations throughout campus. Present your Student ID card to the reader located next to the printer. Your print job will print out. Not Here Place Card Here Print jobs are stored for 1 hour. If you do not print it out, it will be deleted automatically.

10 Printing on Campus Each student is provided with a $50.00 printing credit each semester. You are not charged for this. After your account reaches $0.00 you will need to go to the business office which is located in the campus center Black & White prints are $.10 each and color prints are $.25 each. A color printer can be located in the Technology Center or the Center for Student Success

11 Navigating the MTI Website
Help Desk Submit a help desk ticket MyMTI Access grades, class and technology resources, etc. Student Webmail Access your MTI

12 MyMTI Google Chrome, which has been preinstalled on your laptop, is the preferred browser of MyMTI Please login to MyMTI at this time. If you have an issue or don’t know your MTI username or password please raise your hand.

You can also view your s through Microsoft Outlook which has been installed on your laptops

Your MTI address and password can be used to sign into Google Chrome. Google Drive is available as well through your MTI account. Stores bookmarks and favorites

15 Microsoft Office has already been pre-installed on your laptops
Microsoft Office is available at no charge while you are a student When you no longer attend MTI, your office license will be deactivated

Service & Support Fill out a Help Desk ticket online by clicking on ‘Help Desk’ on the MTI home page or by going to the following website: After submitting a helpdesk ticket please check your for all responses. The Help Desk is located in the Tech Center room 156 and is open Monday – Friday from 7:15am to 5:00pm. An on call technician is available from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and weekends by calling Repairs & Servicing We will make every effort to diagnose and repair the system in house first. If parts are needed we can typically receive them within 1-2 days. If a repair requires multiple parts the system will be shipped to HP. Typical turnaround time is 7-10 business days. Loaner laptops are available if yours is being worked on. We will not provide loaner laptops or chargers if you forgot yours

17 Tech Support Scams Technology support scams have become more common in the last year. Here is some information and tips to help recognize a scam Microsoft will never call you to fix your computer – if you have received a call from Microsoft without contacting them first – it is a scam If you have had a pop-up on your laptop that you have errors and need to call a number to have them fixed – it is a scam If a pop-up appears on your computer telling you that your computer is infected and you need to install software to fix it – it is a scam If you ever have questions about the legitimacy of a pop-up or message on your computer please stop by the help desk

18 BIOS Update -If at some point you see a screen like the ones below, please allow for the system to be updated. -Do not power off or unplug the charger from your laptop

19 Wrap-Up Everything you do on the MTI network is monitored and traceable. Please adhere to the network and computer use policy found in the student handbook by clicking on the ‘Academics’ link
