13 Explain how Windows 8 improves upon Windows 7
Great experience You’ll get a familiar and intuitive interface on all form factors –whether you use a touch screen or keyboard/mouse. Windows 8 automatically supports a wide range of plug-and-play devices (like printers, cameras, media players, displays). Windows 8 requires less memory than prior versions.

14 Explain how Windows 8 improves upon Windows 7
Built on a solid foundation Windows 8 has the flexibility to meet your needs. It is fast, compatible and protected. It also has more for power users. Windows 8 improves on the features they use most often, such as: File Management Task Manager Multiple monitor setups Enhanced desktop

15 Explain how Windows 8 improves upon Windows 7
Touch Windows 8 is optimized for touch-first experience. The ideal way to interact is using touch-based gestures on a multi-touch display. Windows 8 responds to the user’s touch naturally. Use actions like “tap” to access and “slide” to move from app to app, while still receiving the benefits of a full PC operating system.

16 Explain how Windows 8 improves upon Windows 7
Windows RT Windows RT is the mobile version of Windows 8, designed for tablets and mobile phones. The look and feel of the Windows RT UI is the same as Windows 8. Note that Windows RT is a separate OS for mobile devices. Windows RT will not support legacy apps - this feature is only available on Windows 8. Windows RT runs on ARM processors, and delivers ultra-portability – plus many of the other benefits of Windows 8.

17 Explain how Windows 8 improves upon Windows 7
Built for business Windows To Go lets IT admins deploy Windows 8 to USB keys, so users can carry their entire Windows experience wherever they go, on any device. New security features like Trusted Boot, Measured Boot, and built-in malware resistance make Windows 8 secure right from startup. Enhancements to BitLocker and AppLocker will keep data safe without interrupting worker productivity. People want to use the same device to connect to work and personal files. Enhanced end-to-end security More information: BitLocker drive encryption Helps protect corporate data on mobile PCs that include a TPM chip. On Windows 8 Professional and Windows 8 Enterprise editions, BitLocker now encrypts hard drives more quickly, helping to keep data safe without significantly interrupting worker productivity. AppLocker Allows IT administrators to specify which apps are allowed to run on employees’ PCs. This helps prevent unapproved or potentially harmful apps from running on the network. Trusted Boot Helps protect the end-to-end boot process and virtually eliminates the possibility for malware to hijack the boot process or hide from anti- malware software. Measured Boot Validates, signs, and stores boot information in the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip. This enables a remote service to validate a computer’s integrity.

18 Explain how Windows 8 improves upon Windows 7
Built for business New and improved features allow employees to use their Windows 8 devices: On-site with a customer While waiting for a flight When working from home/the office. Built-in mobile broadband: Adds support for 3G and 4G*, enabling business users on-the-go to connect to the Internet. As mobile users move between locations, Windows 8 automatically uses Wi-Fi hotspots, if they’re available. DirectAccess: Remote users can access resources inside of a corporate network more securely and seamlessly without having to launch a separate virtual private network (VPN) connection. SmartScreen: Helps protect users from malicious sites and software on the Internet. When enabled, SmartScreen checks the reputation of any new app or website, keeping users safe, no matter what web browser they are using. * Note: 3G and 4G are only supported if said hardware is installed on the system/device.
