5 Sir Isaac Newton An English scientist known as one of the most influential scientists of all time.

6 Philosopher A person engaged in philosophy (the study of ideas about the nature of life).

7 John Locke An Enlightenment philosopher who believed that men were born free and had natural rights.

8 Thomas Hobbes An Enlightenment philosopher who believed that men were born selfish and competitive.

9 Natural Right A basic right with which all humans are born.

10 The Declaration of Independence
The fundamental document establishing the United States as a nation, adopted on July 4th, 1776.

11 Thomas Jefferson An American Founding Father, the main author of the Declaration of Independence.
