Recommended Strategies
Leverage on Taiwan’s established ecosystem of events and early stage startups to secure good deal flow Good mix of startups in verticals that are of interest to GREE: IoT, Ecommerce Aggressive Actively include Taiwan as a region in fund mandate Make presence known by attending various accelerator demo days and speaking events Develop relationships with keystone individuals and players in the ecosystem such as Jamie Lin and Startup Stadium Emphasize GREE’s ability to help in scaling the business into Japan and the SEA region Few international venture firms present in Taiwan for Series A and above, presenting a good chance to establish a early reputation Passive Invest in deals expanding to SE-Asia and Japan as a market Leverage existing SE Asia network Attend larger scale events such as MOSA to find startups ready to expand However, most startups expanding into other markets might be too late stage for GREE or may choose to expand into China/US instead
