2 Why was propaganda an effective tool for promoting war?

Ideas, information, or rumors that are deliberately spread for the purpose of influencing people’s thought or actions. Information is often presented in a distorted manner. Information may be true although no attempt is made to present the other side.

Present half-truths Only present facts that supports one’s own cause or view Use name calling Identify the cause with a famous person or noble idea. Show the other side in the worst possible way. The use of guilt The bandwagon - everyone does it! Induce fear and paranoia in the audience Portray “plain folks” What are some of the techniques?
