7 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP)
Whole-curricular program with a global perspective 2-year program for 11th and 12th grade students Three additional components beyond the academic coursework Program offered at LHS (VHS is applying for candidacy) To be awarded the IB Diploma students must fulfill three core requirements in addition to passing subject examinations. EE - Extended Essay (independent research essay up to 4,000 words) TOK - Theory of Knowledge (Course introducing students to theories about nature and knowledge and teaches students how to determine the validity of knowledge - critical thinking) CAS - Creativity, Action and Service (provides students with opportunities for personal growth, self-reflection, intellectual, physial and creative challenges. Students participate in social or community service).

ACC’s Dual Credit Program - Transfer LISD has an approved list of 90 ACC classes that can be taken for high school credit. Fall Semester Spring Semester High School Credits College Credit Hours Junior Year ENGL 1301: English Comp I w/ American Lit ENGL 1302: English Comp II English III – 1 credit 6 hours HIST 1302: U.S. History II SPCH 1311: Intro to Speech U.S. History – 1 credit Comm. App. – ½ credit Senior Year ENGL 2322: British Literature HIST 1301: US History I English IV – 1 credit Special Topics in Social Studies – ½ credit ECON 2301: Macroeconomics GOVT 2305: U.S. Government Economics – ½ credit Government – ½ credit students completed an average of 7.3 college credit hours. Potential tuition savings of $2,685,728 based on $258 per credit hour at Texas State.

The purpose of ADAPT is to promote and support wellness, healthy choices, and a drug-free lifestyle through prevention education and counseling. The program aims to provide: Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug education programs in schools Short-term individual and small group counseling Tobacco cessation classes for middle and high school students Voluntary Drug Testing Program for middle and high school students Substance abuse assessments

36 Family Services Team (FST) - Social Workers
Family Services Team is composed of six clinical social workers who serve as a link between schools, homes, and community to help students graduate with every option open. Individual counseling with students and/or guardian(s) Case Management Assessments and referrals to community agencies for mental health issues Referrals for basic needs assistance Parenting support

Second Step will be implemented at all LISD Elementary Campuses. There are four units in each grade level. Skills for Learning Empathy Emotional Management Problem Solving

42 Elementary Gifted and Talented Services
G/T 4th graders apply experiences with simple machines to design complex contraptions ala Rube Goldberg. G/T 5th graders learn about and present “mistakes that worked.” G/T 1st graders explore the science of sound and create “bottle” musical compositions. Gifted and Talented students learn about themselves - their skills, gifts, talents and aspirations - to help develop growth mindsets.

G/T 7th graders present their original children’s books to elementary children. G/T 6th graders create Non-Profit Organizations. G/T 8th graders research countries and create museum artifacts. G/T high school students collaborate in Pre-AP English QUEST and work in QUEST-G/T lab
