3 01 Work Skills Programme Santander Universities are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for unpaid Work Skills Programme within our University branch network. This is just one of the many benefits possible due to the unique and special relationship between Santander and Bath Univr Within this presentation, you will find all the details necessary to place students on our work skills programme.

4 02 How Does it work? This programme is aimed at all students who have either an interest in banking or have a desire to develop their skills in preparation for employment once graduated. The scheme will develop their skills across a range of competencies including Sales Management, Risk Management, World Class Service Ethics and HR functions including People Management.

Whilst the students are working for us, it is important that for value to be added, they gain experience in all key areas of our business, sales, service, risk and control. With this in mind, please see next 2 slides with the outline schedule for the work skills programme.

6 04 Two Week Plan Week 1 Learn product knowledge on key products. Observe/shadow a Branch Manager on pro-active student business acquisition To be set an agreed challenge for the 2 weeks on student acquisition. Observe daily risk checks undertaken and completed by the Branch Manager. 121 with Branch Manager to review successes/learning's Week 2 Complete short survey for 10 customers leaving the branch to understand service levels provided. Time to be spent in the University seeking and obtaining business to be referred to Branch Manager. Observe a customer interview to look at needs identification, recommendations and sales closure.

7 05 Week 1 Timetable Monday 3 hours Tuesday 3 Hours Wednesday Thursday
Friday 1.) Complete product knowledge Learning 2.) Learn word patterns for introducing SU products to UNI students 3.) Complete 121 with Branch Manager outlining scheme for 2 weeks 4.) Spend 1 hour in the UNI seeking referral opportunities 1.) Shadow Branch Manager on weekly risk and control checks 2.) Challenge set to drive foot flow into the branch through own market and communications 3.) Out in the University with the branch manager looking for business opportunities 1.) Branch Manager to teach work placement Santander's strategy on customer first. 2.) Student to complete a mystery shop on another bank and compare the bank and Santander. 3.) Findings to be produced and presented to the Branch Manager 1.) Target of 15 students to be introduced to the Branch Manager on campus. 2.) People policies to be reviewed, focusing on management of sickness, attendance and capability/disciplinary policy within a large corporation. 1.) Observe a full customer interview. 2.) Pro active referral approaches within the University.

Friday 1.) Review with Branch Manager Week1 learning's and performance. 2.) Branch Manager and Student to agree week 2 objectives based on week 1 interests and findings. 1.) Work on agreed objectives. 1.) BM and student to complete final documented 121. Student to present report of learning's to the Branch Manager and sent to Santander Universities head office team. 2.) Student to be presented with a certificate for successful completion of work placement.

9 Learning Outcomes Work skills can be curricular to getting the first job not just as a way of learning more about the industry and gaining new skills, but also way to demonstrate your commitment to carrier in banking. Through project work, training, meetings and shadowing of Branch Manager and colleagues you will be able to explore our work in detail, start building your network and start developing the skills that will make you a future leader.
