9 2016 Activities: Community Outreach while Training Health Care Teams
Women’s Health Awareness Event Hosted by DCI Office of Health Equity Sponsored by NIEHS Wellness Fair targeting persons with access to care issues in 5 counties attendees all ages Partnered with TONS volunteers for community outreach 12 nurses volunteered 272 radon kits Attendees from 12 counties

10 Pilot with Community Health Workers
Scripted calls To all women who received kits Target calls within 3 months of event 9 sent in 45% still had their kits; plan to test in Winter 17% lost kit and want replacement Will follow-up in Fall to those 62% planning to test Delivery kits to those who requested it Script developed to use when we encounter an individual with high radon test level Next steps Men’s Health Initiative (Fall every year) TONS program --- member test kits Identify similar health fair events across the state and engage local healthcare practitioner groups to help with booth (for their community outreach)

11 2017 Plans Pilot --- working with DCI to message Radon Action Month in January in the Cancer Center Provide information and radon test kits Provide the scripted follow-up Pilot --- work with school nurses to talk with children Continue Outreach Programs Focus on Physicians and Physician Asisstants “Exhibit” at conferences including NC Survivorship Conference & NC Navigation Conference
