2 Build a Better Boat- Group Reflection
What can you borrow from other designs to make yours work better? What do you need to learn more about to make a better boat design? Discuss these questions in your groups and record answers in your spiral notebook.

3 Be a Scientist! Are you copying someone when you use part of their boat idea for your boat design? Did a group copy your design? Let others know your success is theirs if you borrowed their ideas. The other team’s success is your success. Cite – to quote something or someone. Cite others work when you borrow their ideas or information.

4 What’s The Point? The more chances you get to iterate, the better your solution will turn out. The iterative approach to design and problem solving is what scientists do. Give credit to groups for their ideas that you use. This is how scientists work and how science grows. Keeping records is important. The goal is to understand the challenge better and create better solutions.

5 The Science of Boat Design
As we read and learn more about the science of boat design we will take notes. We are going to create 2- column notes TOGETHER!! I will keep a copy in my class notebook for you to see any time you need it.
