2 Headlines DYW’s overarching target is to reduce 2014 levels of youth unemployment by 40% by (In 2014, young people (18% of young people) were not in employment, training or education). The percentage of school leavers attaining ‘vocational’ qualifications at SCQF Level 5 and above has increased from 7.3% in 2013/14 to 9.0% in 2014/15, with increases found in 28 out of 32 local authorities. 10% increase in qualifications specifically recognising skills for life and work were attained in 2015. 9% increase in senior phase pupils enrolled on college courses in Gender balance levels in Higher Physics (28% girls in 2014), Technological Studies (7% girls), Computing (20% girls) and Biology (36% boys) have remained largely static for 30 years. Only 4% of engineering modern apprentices in 2015 were female.
