Morning Routines The gates to the school are open at 8.30am every morning. Only children who are monitors are allowed to enter the classrooms before registration. Children should stay out in the playground before school with their coats and rucksacks. They may bring musical instruments or cycle helmets into the classroom.
5
Afternoon Routines After School Club children go directly to the cabin from the classroom. Children attending clubs go directly to the meeting point for their clubs. All year 6 children exit the school by the silver gates at the far side of the school. It is important that we know who is authorised to collect your children from school. Children in year 6 are becoming more independent and some walk all (or part of the way) home. We are quite happy about this, but do need a permission letter to this effect. Please notify the office of any changes.
6
Medicines If your child has any kind of medication, including epipens or inhalers for asthma, you MUST ensure that they have their medicine in school at all times. Check with the office if you are unsure. Even if your child only uses their inhaler occasionally, it is your responsibility to ensure they have access to it in school. Always tell your child’s teacher and the office if your child is taking any medicine e.g. antibiotics, paracetamol (calpol) etc…
7
Mobile Phones We are able to keep mobile phones safe in our lockable cabinets, so children should put them in the locker at the beginning of the school day and we will return them at the end. Children should not keep mobile phones on during the day, neither in their bags, trays nor pockets. For safeguarding reasons, children should not be on their phones when in the playground before school.

Necessary equipment – see overview
Pencil case – blue handwriting pen, pencil, rubber, sharpener, small glue stick, small ruler. Coloured pencils. Felt pens are occasionally used, but not regularly in books, as they ‘go through’ the paper. We always have spares available.
9
Necessary equipment Water bottle - with fresh water daily. Coat.
PE kit. PE is on Monday and Wednesday, but it helps to have PE kit in school every day. Children are not allowed to do PE wearing earrings or bracelets. Outdoor trainers (in a carrier bag) for the field. Non-attendance from PE must be accompanied by a signed note. Regular non-attendance will be noted and followed up. If a spare kit is borrowed it will be sent home to be washed and returned a.s.a.p.
10
Mid-morning snacks Fruit or vegetables or cheese.
Cereal bars / oatcakes / dippers / biscuits must be kept for lunchtime. We are very proud of our Bronze award and try so very hard to be a ‘healthy’ school! No sweets, chocolate covered things or fizzy drinks in lunchboxes please. NO NUTS!

Arrange a meeting for after school, for longer discussions or phone the office and we will ring you back as soon as we can.

Do you know anyone who would like to come in for a chat? Tea and biscuits provided!! Children are also invited to bring in World War 2 mementoes / keepsakes to show.
