1. Safety
Classroom is a place where we not only learn subject chemistry, but we interact socially, learning with cooperation, respect each other and support each other to be lifelong learner and productive citizens. It is our responsibility to respect each other and keep a safe classroom and learning environment in classroom and during lab.

2. We know some chemicals are very dangerous
We know some chemicals are very dangerous. Accidents happen by accident and these can be avoided by taking precautions during chemistry labs. Any chemical will be dangerous if it is misused. Always think of your safety and safety of others.

3. Safety procedures
You are the future scientist and follow scientific and safe procedures.
Accidents happen by accident. Working with safety can avoid serious accidents. During lab, safety of every one is priority.
Perform the experiment in the order it is instructed by teacher.

4. Read the entire activity procedure before entering & starting lab.
Any activity designed by students must be approved by teacher before it is performed or executed.
Wear right clothing (take of jackets and roll up long sleeves).
Tie up long hairs.
Do not wear contact lenses.

6. Safety procedures Fire drill procedure and evacuation.
Always put on safety glasses and apron during lab.
In case of an accident, let the teacher know first.
Never work alone in lab.
Keep your area neat and clean.
Be alert and walk with care in lab.

7. Never taste a chemical in lab.
Do not inhale fumes or gases directly rather make a puff to smell a gas.
Follow the instructions and safety procedure written on the labels.

8. Always put names of the chemicals no containers with reagents.
Keep flammables away from flames (Bunsen burner).
For all chemicals, take only what you need.
Never take any chemicals out of lab.

9. To make dilute solutions of acids, always add acid into water and never add water into acid.
Dispose off all waste chemicals according to teacher.

10. Do not Take food, drinks, chewing gum into lab.
Always pay attention to safety symbols written on chemical labels.
Glass equipment can break very easily and cause serious accident.
Do not fool around in lab.
Do not mix chemicals unnecessarily. Accident can happen.

11. Emergency Follow standard fire-safety procedures:
In case of fire, tell your teacher about the fire.
In case your cloth catches on fire, walk to wash station, stand & turn on shower.

12. Never leave fire unattended.
Report any accident or hazardous material to teacher.
Report all chemical spill to your teacher immediately.

13. If you spill a chemical on your skin, wash it off with running water.
If you get a chemical in your eyes, walk immediately to eye wash station, turn it on and wash your eye for 15 minutes.

14. Glassware
Use glassware very carefully as glass can break very easily and causes serious accident.
Do not use chipped or broken glass equipment.
Heat test tube in a slanting way, keeping the mouth of test tube away from and your partner.

15. Hold the test tube with test tube holder and heat all parts of test tube in a slanting way to avoid splash on face.
Never put hot test tube on lab table (cool place will crack hot test tubes).
Carefully handle hot test tube as it looks same as cold test tube.
