5 Expertise Complete range for Light Commercial applications
New Voyager I Voyager II Expertise Complete range for Light Commercial applications A wide range of airflow / static pressure From 2500 to m3/h Up to 500 Pa Trane is a rooftop expert. Thanks to a wide range of ariflow/static pressure, our rooftops range covers 99% of the light commercial applications

6 Expertise High efficiency units High efficiency Gas Burner : 90%
New Voyager I Voyager II Expertise High efficiency units High efficiency Gas Burner : 90% Tubular « S » design to increase heat transfer surface Turbulators in the exhaust pipe to decrease smoke velocity and increase heat exchanges Heating capacities from 23kW to 69kW Micro-control Heat pump smart recovery Optimization of mechanical heating Auxiliary heating devices only used when necessary Economizer preferred cooling To minimize compressor(s) operation in cooling mode Trane is a rooftop expert. In order to decrease operational costs, we have designed efficient units 1) gas burner efficiency is around 90% 2) the micro-control optimizes the rooftop operation a) heat pump smart recovery : - most of the systems will use all the heating capabilities of the unit when there is a call for heat in order to reach the room setpoint asap. - our controller will first start the heat pump mode, and use the auxiliary heating devices (electric heater, hot water coil) only if the room temperature recovery is not satisfactory b) economizer preferred cooling : - when there is a call for cooling and outside air conditions are suitable for free-cooling, the micro-controller will first try to cool down the building with the outside air, it will turn on compressors only if the room temperature recovery is not satisfactory - under extreme conditions, the controller may allow free-cooling and mechanical cooling to operate together, thus optimizing the use of free-cooling

7 Expertise High efficiency units The highest COP / EER in its class !
New Voyager I Voyager II Expertise High efficiency units The highest COP / EER in its class ! EER : from 2.55 to 3.02 COP : from 2.93 to 3.41 EUROVENT certified The assurance of accurate performance data Common comparison criteria Only manufacturer with its whole range certified Cooling only : all sizes Heat pump : all sizes Gas fired : all sizes Trane is a rooftop expert. EER : UNIT efficiency in cooling mode (not only compressor efficiency) COP : UNIT efficiency in heating mode (not only compressor efficiency) Trane is the only manufacturer which has its complete range Eurovent certified A lot of competitor publish - in their litterature - efficiencies which do not deduct the fan heat and/or are not at Eurovent conditions (cooling : 27°C DB/19°C WB / 35°C; heating 19°C / 7°C DB/6°C WB). This is only to sophisticate values and provide higher data. Some of them don’t even have the Eurovent certification which gives even less credibility to their values. Trane publish - in its litterature - data which are Eurovent certified. Customers can trust us and choose our units to minimize operational costs.

8 Expertise Engineering design Unique design through the range
New Voyager I Voyager II Expertise Engineering design Unique design through the range Components always at the same place Whatever the size Whatever the type Standardized parts Continuous research & development 26 US patents on the New Voyager I Easy cleaning condensing coil on New Voyager I One piece ridged top on New Voyager I etc... Trane is a rooftop expert. Unique design thru the range : - once you know one unit, you know them all. Customers don’t have to « learn » the product each time they buy a new size or type of unit

9 avoids water stagnation & sources of micro-organisms
New Voyager I Voyager II Expertise Experience in comfort Indoor Air Quality Drain pan Non-corrosive Double sloped Cleanable avoids water stagnation & sources of micro-organisms Foil-faced insulation No risk of carrying over particules by the air Cleanable Better resistance to fire Trane is a rooftop expert. IAQ is taking more and more importance in occupant’s comfort and health and safety regulations. Trane is designing units which have integrated these needs in their standard features. Throwaway filters as standard on all units Avoids to soil permanent filters during the first hours of operation where a lot of dust is conveyed by the system Money saving

10 Reliability Scroll compressors on all sizes
New Voyager I Voyager II Reliability Scroll compressors on all sizes 70% fewer parts versus a reciprocating compressor No delicate parts in motion like springs, connecting rods etc... Low torque variation imposes very little stress on the motor Three-dimensional seal keeps the compression chamber hermetic

11 Reliability Gas burners Designed and built by Trane
New Voyager I Voyager II Reliability Gas burners Voyager II Designed and built by Trane Used for more than 15 years in Trane units New Voyager I Made of aluminized steel People are sometimes afraid of using gas burners on top of their building. Here are the sfety features that Trane units propose. In addition to the slide we can say that: - our burners are approved by a notified entity AFNOR, safety and performances - as part of the whole unit, they are CE approved and can also comply with the European local code (Switzerland, Hungary etc…) - the pressure inside the drum is smaller than the pressure of the airstream. Therefore, if a hole appears on the drum, there will be no smoke or gas intrusion in the airstream, but on the contrary, the air will be aspired inside the drum and shut it off immediately Critical components in stainless steel

12 Reliability Micro-control standard features
New Voyager I Voyager II Reliability Micro-control standard features True anti-short cycle timer on the compressors : 3 min minimum ON & 3 min minimum OFF, ensures proper oil return Low ambient start timer : bypasses low pressure switch when a compressor starts, eliminates nuisance compressor lockouts Low ambient operation down to -18°C Thanks to its intelligent operation, the Micro-controller brings a lot of standard features to improve the reliability of the system. True anti-short cycle timer : we say TRUE because some competitive units provide a standard anti-short cycle timer which only controls the minimum OFF time of the compressor and not the minimum ON time, which does not insure proper oil circulation.

13 Reliability Micro-control standard features
New Voyager I Voyager II Reliability Micro-control standard features Easy unit diagnostic on Trane Integrated Comfort System : alarms can be reported to Trane control devices On board diagnostic & built-in test mode : allows the technician to easily test the unit and find the trouble Intelligent fallback : control built-in setpoints, allows temporary operation of the units without thermostat Looking at the service & maintenance side. On board diagnostic : the LED of the mother board indicates proper operation of the unit. Built-in test mode : by establishing the contact between 2 identified contacts on the LTB (Low voltage Terminal Board : customer connection board), the technician is able to cycle the operation of each major component of the unit. This helps to quickly identify which one fails. Intelligent Fallback : if the communication fails between the unit and the thermostat, the technician can take the OA sensor of the unit, place is into the return section and wire it up to the control (on the thermostat connections : LTB 1&2). The unit will then run between predefined setpoint - cooling 23,3°C - heating 20°C. The client does not have to wait to receive a new thermostat to have some airconditioning.

14 one piece ridged top panel raised lip around return & supply openings
New Voyager I Voyager II Reliability Proven Watertightness New Voyager I Even if water gets inside the unit, there is no way it can get into the conditioned room one piece ridged top panel New Voyager I raised lip around return & supply openings Our rooftop units are designed to operate outside. They must be perfectly waterproof. - units have been heaviliy rain tested - no water can get into the air-treatment section a) New Voyager I : one piece ridged top panel, no leakage risk b) Voyager II : patented Trane Tite Top (T3) at top panels junction c) connection rooftop / roofcurb: the rooftop overlaps the roofcurb, the rain cannot go inside the ductwork - no water can go from the inside of the unit to the conditioned room a) 3cm raised lip around supply & return openings b) one piece base pan on New Voyager I, eliminates leakage sources Trane Tite Top (T3) one piece base pan

15 Reliability Tests Design tests : Production tests :
New Voyager I Voyager II Reliability Tests Design tests : The gas burners have been tested and passed over 150,000 cycles and are AFNOR certified The fan and idler arm assembly have been tested over 300,000 cycles each Production tests : Every coil receives : a 31 bar pressure test a 14 bar leak test Every unit - options included - receives a 100% running test before it leaves the factory

16 Flexibility Adjustable airflow Standard or oversized transmissions
New Voyager I Voyager II Flexibility Adjustable airflow Voyager II Standard or oversized transmissions Adjustable pulleys Trane idler arm assembly : only one bolt to adjust the belt tension New Voyager I A wide range of airflow / static pressure - from 2500 to m3/h - up to 500 Pa - select the right transmission at time of order entry - fine tune of fan speed on job site by adjusting one accessible bolt A adjustable motor pulley idler arm pulley belt tension adjustment bolt B C

IAQ sensors (either room or duct sensors) to control the amount of fresh air

20 Flexibility Micro-control
New Voyager I Voyager II Flexibility Micro-control Factory-configured : just hook up a thermostat and you can start! Scheduling and anticipated start : the unit starts in advance to reach the right temperature at the right time Emergency stop terminal : a convenient connection point for security device Temperature averaging : several temperature sensors can be connected to one thermostat Temperature averaging : particularly interesting for big volume when temperature is not homogeneous

21 Easy and Quick ... To install Factory dedicated airflow
New Voyager I Voyager II Easy and Quick ... To install Factory dedicated airflow No job site conversion Big time saving ! Wide range of factory-mounted options Tested in the factory with the unit Big time saving ! Factory dedicated airflow : some competitors offer deliver units in downflow configuration, and if the application is horizontal, the installer must convert the unit (ex : Lennox, Linea up to size 55). We do the conversion in the factory for the client (even on the New Voyager I range) Factory-mounted options : each time an option can be mounted in the unit, we do it in the factory. Only items like room thermostats, roofcurbs, fire thermostat (which must be mounted in the ductwork) etc… have to be mounted on site.

22 Easy and Quick ... To install
New Voyager I Voyager II Easy and Quick ... To install Duct connection - horizontal configuration Duct flanges as standard for easier duct connection Return & supply on the same side to facilitate rooftop positioning against the building Return & supply direct to the duct : no additional roofcurb needed Return and supply on the same side : some competitors offer horizontal discharge units with return and supply on different sides of the unit - this complicates ductwork as you want to hit the buliding on the same side - there is not always the space on job site to make such a duct network around the unit, especially if the unit has to be installed on the roof in a technical corridor Return and supply direct to the duct : some competitors do not have true horizontal discharge unit (ex: Lennox, Linéa range, above size 55), and the installer must use a specific roofcurb with lateral discharge to connect the duct - this is additional component to purchase and additional work - the supply & return sections are relatively flat - this increases unit height which may cause visual issues - when unit is mounted on the roof - as the rooftop has to be discrete

23 Easy and Quick ... To install Duct connection - vertical configuration
New Voyager I Voyager II Easy and Quick ... To install Duct connection - vertical configuration Easy duct connection on the ductwork Easy handling of the roofcurb thanks to lifting holes Easy adjustment of the roofcurb slop thanks to cage nuts : one man only to do the work - Easy connections of the rooftop on the roofcurb as the rooftop overlaps it. - Easy connection of the ductwork : the ductwork has to be connected on the roofcurb - the installer can build up the duct-connections according the the roofcurb drawings while the roofcurb is in delivery, thus saving time - he can then start to work immediately on the building while the rooftop is in delivery to save time

24 Easy and Quick ... To service and maintain Single side access
New Voyager I Voyager II Easy and Quick ... To service and maintain Single side access Access to all major components : no « turn around » Access to gas burner and smoke exhaust : easy to adjust combustion and check smoke at the same time Full visibility on both control and major components at any given time : avoids accidents during start-up or maintenance Quick access panels 3 or less screws only to get in ! Easy access to all components Direct access to compressors Direct access to fan assembly Easy opening of the top panel : when needed for heavy maintenance

25 industry standard formed coil :
New Voyager I only Easy and Quick ... To service and maintain separated Patented condensing coil on New Voyager I « 1+1+1 coil » permanently gapped for easy cleaning new Trane coil design : 20 min Less cleaning time required No need to remove the top of the unit The separated coil portion sets on a raised base-pan : debris (dirt, leaves…) flow under the condenser coil industry standard formed coil : 45 min

26 Communication LONMARK® certified controller open standard protocol
New Voyager I Voyager II Communication LONMARK® certified controller open standard protocol direct compatibility with Tracer Summit or any BMS using LonTalk® one single protocol with predefined profiles for all the equipment in the building easy to install and commission factory mounted only one cable between the different devices

27 Communication TRACKER controls up to 12 rooftops
New Voyager I Voyager II Communication TRACKER controls up to 12 rooftops 2-row liquid crystal display temperature setpoint scheduling override mode & local setpoint adjustment alarms smart start We are the only one on the market able to propose this type of solution. The Tracker is a small BMS controller. Its purpose is to provide flexibility and extra comfort to the user. - it can be connected to a maximum of 12 rooftop units and has 2 additional relay cards for controls such as exhaust fans, lights etc.. - it has a 2-row liquid crystal display for easy reading and 16 keys for quick access to the programs. - from a single friendly controller, the user can program all units (scheduling, setpoints). - the time override as well as the local setpoint adjustment functions give extra-flexibility to the system. When the user wants to get out of the regular scheduling or setpoint, a local sensor can be used to give extra occupied time or adjust the setpoint. Flexibility! - when an alarm is detected by the Tracker, first a red LED is blinking, second a message is displayed on the screen. - Smart start: the Tracker will integrate the previous start-up and define the best time to start the system up so that the setpoint is reached at the begining of the occupied period. The right temperature at the right time. - security! There is a reading mode available for everyone and a writing mode available with a password only. - the Tracker can be connected to a computer with the regular Windows package for advanced setup and control (temp curves etc..). It can also be controlled remotely via modem or send alarm message on a remote computer or printer. password security computer link or modem
