2. Entry to and from Spalding Academy
You will only be able to enter/exit Spalding Academy from Halmer Gardens.
If you are late you will only be get into school via the East Side Staff Car Park and be let in. You must sign in with reception.
The field will no longer be open for you to walk across.

4. Uniform
Black leather designated school shoes – no trainers, pumps or boots
Academy tie (Year group colours )
Black Blazer with academy badge and SA initials –To be worn at all times on the school site unless specific permission has been given by a member of staff
Black V-neck sweatshirt/pullover – plain black. A pullover is in addition to the blazer not instead of a blazer. No cardigans
White shirt – long or short sleeved, worn tucked in and all buttons fastened.
Black trousers. Off the ground. Any belt should be plain black.
Black skirt –Must be no shorter than 5cm above the knee and no longer than 10cm above the ankle – not fitted or bodycon styles
Tights - flesh coloured or black
Black or dark grey outdoor coat – no large logos. Safety reflector strips allowed.
All coats (no hoodies) or outdoor wear to be removed in the school building to include scarves. No fashion scarves to be worn.
Socks – black or dark grey no mixed colours.
Hair style – no extreme hairstyles or colours are permitted and hair should be acceptable to a public workplace. The school has discretion in these matters.

5. Additional requirements
Jewellery
A single small stud or sleeper may be worn in each ear No facial/body piercing jewellery is acceptable, including sleepers One plain necklace may be worn (not to be seen) One charity bracelet may be worn No fashion belts (either integral to the garment or otherwise)
Any religious head covering, eg Turban, should be plain in either black or white 
Makeup & Nail Varnish
Key stage 3 – NO makeup allowed
Key Stage 4 – Minimal/subtle makeup allowed
Only clear nail varnish allowed in Key Stages 3 and 4.

6. Uniform Continued ……………………
You may wear a scarf/hat to school but these must be taken off as you enter the school building. You must also take your coat off as you enter the school building.

7. Uniform Continued
If you forget or wear inappropriate shoes you will be sent to G24 (SRU/seclusion) to swap these for a pair of plimsolls which will be returned at the end of the day (this will also receive a strike and SIMS log – information to follow on Slide 14) .
The same will apply if you forget your tie.
If you are inappropriately dressed you will not be allowed to access your normal lessons.

8. One Way System – G Corridor
During lesson changeover (including break and lunch) the double door at the end of the East Side G Corridor (next to G16) is closed and not to be used. If students are found using this door their strike cards will be signed.

10. House System
All students have been allocated a House. As well as Year Group Assemblies there will also be House Assemblies. Events during the year will be happening and involving Houses – more information to follow throughout the year! You will be given a House badge to show whose House you are in.

11. 4 Point Plan Basic level of discipline;
Warning issued – planners on desk
Red stamp name on board
3) Outside of class/reprimand issues - detention set
4) Sent outside of class for On Call pick up to take to internal isolation
Persistent poor behaviour = SRU (replacing seclusion) = G24 for a given time.

12. Planners
Student planners must be on the table in all classroom based lessons.
Green stamp in planner – good performance in lesson (recorded on SIMS)
Red stamp in planner – poor performance in lesson (recorded on SIMS)
If a student has permission to leave lesson they MUST have their planner with them (this replaces the out of lesson slip).

13. SIMS – Rewards and Behaviour
Everything is now recorded on SIMS. This includes Achievement AND Behaviour logs.
Every log has been allocated a number of points and at the end of each term these points will determine which students are rewarded.

14. Strike Cards
All students will be issued with a new Strike Card during Tuesday morning’s (1/11) registration. These are to be kept in students top pocket of their blazer. Term 1 Strike Cards are to placed in form boxes (1/11).
You will receive strikes for things out of lessons (poor behaviour in corridors, uniform issues etc)
Once the Strike Card is full in term 2, the last member of staff to sign in it sends the student to IBI/BS Office (staff will too). Students will receive 2 x Lunch Detentions. If a student fills 2 x Strike Cards they will receive a Period 6.
If a student loses their Strike Card they need to be sent to student reception and will be issued with a new one, and a 15 minute detention at the end of their year assembly. If you bring the old one in you will not have to attend a detention.

15. School Ties Year 7 = Green Year 8 = Blue Year 9 = Red Year 10 = Yellow
Students in each year group will all wear the same colour tie (apart from Year 11 prefects);
Year 7 = Green
Year 8 = Blue
Year 9 = Red
Year 10 = Yellow
Year 11 = Purple

16. House Badges
When these have been issued they must be worn at all times. Failure to wear your House Badge will result in a strike. If you lose your House Badge you must report to your Head of House and buy a new one. These cost £1.00

17. The Bells 2 Bells - If rung before AM registration key
stages 3 and 4 should go to their form rooms
immediately. If rung before break, all students go
to their period 3 teaching room.
3 Bells - Students may remove their blazers around the school site
4 Bells - Students may remove their blazers, their ties and undo their top buttons around the school site.

18. Break & Lunch = Areas
Every year group has been allocated an area for break and lunch times. Only students from this year group is allowed to stay in this area.
Year 7 Yard – East Play Ground
Year 8 Yard – Netball Courts, between D and E Block
Year 9 Yard – Basketball Courts, West Side
Year 10 Yard – Outside E & B Block and around Year 10 Mobile
Year 11 Yard – Old Green House Area, back of LRC
All students will have the opportunity to use Café Central at lunch. Only KS3 can use Café Central at break. KS4 only can use the Hot Shop at break.

19. Astro Turf Lunch Time Astro use
The Astro Turf will be closed before and after school and also at break time. No student is allowed to use the astro during these times unless they are attending a club.
Lunch Time Astro use
The use of the Astro Turf is a privilege and is for Football only. If you do not have a ball or your friends do not have a ball you will not be granted access on to the astro.
The only entry on to astro is through the gate opposite the outside boys changing rooms. If you enter through another gate you will be banned from using the astro until further notice.
No food will be allowed to be consumed on the astro, if caught students will be banned from the astro and receive a strike.
No shoes on the astro, students must change into their trainers before they enter the astro. Students can change in the changing rooms or on the benches outside.
If you receive two or more behaviour logs in a week you will be banned from the astro for the rest of that week and the following week. Mr Ivatt will have a list of these students daily. If you are not playing football on the astro you must return to your year group area.

20. Mound (behind C Block) The mound is banned for students.
Students are not to walk over or round the mound during break, lunch or lesson change over.
Any students found to be on or using the mound during these periods will receive a strike.

21. Bus Waiting Room No students will wait for buses by the side of them.
Students either get on their bus or wait in Café Central until they are collected for their bus. Students will be told which door they can exit from to walk to their bus.
In Café Central students will be able to complete any homework they have or sit quietly and wait for their bus. Café Central will be supervised by members of staff and students will only be able to sit in the designated areas.

22. Rewards
Students at Spalding Academy will continue to be rewarded for various things.
The new SIMS Logs system means each reward is allocated a number of points. Students can be rewarded for extra-curricular attendance, good homework etc.
At the end of each term students with the most Achievement points will be rewarded in assemblies and with special events.
Regular updates of Achievement points will be shared in assemblies by Heads of Year and Heads of Houses.
End of Year trips will be offered first to students with the most achievement points (and least behaviour points).
At the end of each term although recorded, students points will start from 0.
