9 Star Challenge I can work safely and hygienically around the cooker and with knives. I used the rubbing in method to produce a well baked apple crumble. I have completed the practical on time, leaving my work station clean and tidy. I used the rubbing in method to produce a well baked apple crumble with an even topping. 10 Prepare for practical Follow the instructions:
Aprons on, hair tied back, wash hands etc. Gather your ingredients at your work station. Stand and wait for my next instructions. You have 3 minutes to do this. GO!

11 Fruit Crumble In oven by 13:50 ! Cleared away by 14:00
Ingredients 100g Plain Flour 50g butter or margarine 50g oats 25g Sugar 2 Eating Apples 50g sultanas Equipment Weighing scales Mixing bowl Wooden spoon Chopping board Knife/ corer. Ovenproof dish/foil tray Baking tray. Sauce pan. Preheat the oven to 190°C or gas mark 5. Core the apples and cut into chunks using the bridge and claw technique. Add the apple into a pan with 200ml water and let it simmer until the apples soften. Rub in the butter or margarine into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the oats and sugar. Stir in the sultanas to the stewed apple. Add the apple and sultana mix to the foil dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apple. Bake for 20 minutes, until the crumble is golden. In oven by 13:50 ! Cleared away by 14:00
