1. 4th grade December News Social Studies
Christmas Party
We will be having our classroom Christmas parties on Thursday December 22. We plan to spend our party singing, playing games, making crafts, and other activities. If you want to send treats we will eat them with lunch that day. We dismiss at 12:50.
Math
Math is going to be covering many different topics again. Multiplication, measurement, subtraction,and division. Please study the basic multiplication facts with your child - they need to know these!!
Social Studies
Our studies of South Dakota history continues. Your child should be able to tell you some interesting things about our state.
*Some students are running out of school supplies. Pencils, erasers, notebooks, etc. might be good stocking stuffers.
* If your child wants to bring their own expo marker for Math, that would be great.
* Please make sure your child has SHOES at school. Boots are great for recess, but we need shoes for in the classroom.
Reading
We are still in the unit called “Medicine Past and Present”. Ask your child what they have learned about medicine and if they are glad they live today, when they get sick.
Christmas Concert
Dec.13 – 7:00 pm
English
We will finish our poems for the book before Christmas. Information about buying one is in your purple folder today. Please sign and send back even if you don’t want to order one.
Science
In Science, we are finishing up Chapter 4 on human body systems. Students took their chapter test this week. We will be starting our unit on Earth/Space Science.
