The 46th Annual State Freestyle & Greco Roman Championships plus NC National Dual Team Wrestle Offs (If Needed) May 6th-7th Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex 421 27th St NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 The NC State Championships are qualifiers for: NC Cadet and Jr. National Team Fargo, ND July 14-22 SE Regionals, Atlanta, GA May 26-28 ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION& PAYMENT “Early” Registration $20- Ends 11pm Thursday “Last Minute” Registration after 11pm Thursday will be $30. NO ENTRIES AFTER 7pm Friday, May 5th State Championships are OPEN to NC WRESTLERS ONLY You must pre-register AND prepay to wrestle in the state championships. You must register separately for each style (Greco and/or Freestyle) you intend to wrestle. Event Director: Ed Duncan Registration Issues: Kelli Shuffler (828) EVENT SCHEDULE SATURDAY, May 6 9:00 am Doors Open (No outside food allowed) 9:30-10:00 am Freestyle Weigh-ins (All Ages) Those wrestling both styles will not have to weigh in again on Sunday. NO GRECO ONLY WEIGH-INS ON SATURDAY HOUSING INFORMATION Be sure to mention NCUSA Wrestling when booking. COMPETITOR INFORMATION USA Wrestling Competitor Cards are required for State Championships and are good nationally until September 1 2016. Membership should be purchased before the event online at All wrestlers should have a copy of their membership card IN HAND when reporting to registration. USA Membership: $40 (required for Bantam-Junior) Open License Required for Open Competition ($50) Limited Folkstyle Memberships are NOT VALID State Championship Entry Fees: $20-30 per style depending on when you enter. YOU MUST PRE-PAY Changing Weights: You may change weight classes up to the registration cut-off. Once registration closes, wrestlers will not be allowed to change weights. Failure to make weight: Any wrestler who fails to make the weight they registered for will be forfeited out of the tournament OR may pay $10 re-pairing fee per style to be entered in the weight for which they qualify. 2017 USA Weights will be used. NCUSA reserves the right to combine weight classes and divisions if needed. 11:00 am- Until Freestyle Competition (All Ages) 7:00pm- NCUSA Coaches Social- Location TBA SUNDAY, May 7 9:00 am Doors Open 9:00-9:30 am- Greco-Roman Only Weigh-ins 10:00am-FCA Devotions 10:30am-Until- Greco-Roman Competition Wrestlers qualifying for a spot on Team NC should make their intentions to participate known ASAP. Challenging for True 2nd Place is allowed at this event! SPECTATOR INFORMATION Spectator Admission: $6 per day Current USA Coaches (must present current 2016 card) are entitled to FREE Event Admission. Please note free admission does not include floor access for this event. (see coaches information for more on coaching at this event) No Outside Food or Drinks. Bags will be searched upon entry (per Fairgrounds Policy)

COACHES INFORMATION Two Coaches Per Corner. Coaches must hold 2016 Coaches Card to coach at this event. Bronze Certified Coaches are entitled to FREE Admission and a FREE Floor Pass for this event. All other Current USA Coaches must have a floor pass to coach at this event. COACHES FLOOR PASS: $5 Bronze Clinic: $75 Please RSVP to by Thursday at 10pm for the Bronze Clinic. _________________________________________________________ STYLES, DIVISIONS, & WEIGHTS 2016 UWW Frestyle & Greco-Roman Rule in Effect USA Wrestling 2016 Divisions and Weights are as follows: Bantam (born ): Intermediate (born ): Novice (born ): Schoolboy (born ): Cadet (born ): Junior (born after 9/1/96 and in grades 9-12): Senior/Open (born 1996 or before): GIRLS WEIGHTS/DIVISIONS Schoolgirl (born ): Cadet Women (born ): Junior Women (born after 9/1/96 and in grades 9-12) 97, 105, 112, 117, 121, 125, 130, 139, 148, 159, 172, 198 See weight charts for additional details _______________________________________________________ RULES, AWARDS & TEAM ENTRY INFORMATION Rules: All divisions will use international freestyle, Greco and women’s freestyle rules with USA Modifications. Uniforms: Red/Blue Singlets preferred for all ages, REQUIRED for Cadet-Jr. Divisions. RULES, AWARDS & TEAM ENTRY (cont.) Individual Awards: Medals to top four placers. Team Competition & Awards: Small Club Division: 1-10 wrestlers. Large club division: 11 or more wrestlers. Top 2 clubs will be recognized in each division/style. Club Entry: No entry fee. Only Chartered NC Clubs are eligible for team awards. Club charter fee is $70 and must be submitted prior to the beginning of competition on Saturday. NC NATIONAL TEAMS QUALIFICATION INFORMATION Team qualification is specific to division, style, and weight class. Qualifying in Greco does not qualify you in Freestyle. Qualifying as a Cadet does not qualify you as a Junior. Qualifying at 160 does not qualify you at 171. Petitioning: You may petition for membership on a team any time before the set deadline (12:00 NOON- May 18). The Petition Fee is $100 if you did not wrestle in a qualifying event. Dual Team Slots will be determined by wrestle-off as needed. Open Slots may be filled by Coaching Staff. NCUSA reserves the right to take more than one participant in each weight class NATIONAL TEAMS AND TRIPS For NC National Team trip information contact: Nate Bipes, National Teams Director cell Kids/Cadets/Junior Regional, Atlanta, GA #1-6 from Tar Heel State Classic and State Championships are invited. Divisions are Bantam, Intermediate, Novice, Schoolboy, Cadet, and Junior. Schoolboy National Duals, Indianapolis, IN Highest NC Finisher at Tar Heel State Classic will earn slot. $50 Deposits due at Tar Heel State Classic. Cadet/Junior National Duals, York, PA/Oklahoma City, OK Highest NC Finisher at Tar Heel State Classic will earn slot. $50 Deposit Due at Tar Heel State Classic. Cadet/Junior Nationals, Fargo, ND #1 & 2 from State Championships and #1 from Tar Heel State Classic* invited. May also qualify at FILA Cadet Nationals, FILA Jr. Nationals, or any USA Wrestling Regional. East Coast Duals- Pasadena, MD- Highest NC Finisher at Tar Heel State Classic will earn slot. If they choose to go on National Team Trip and not East Coast Duals, the highest NC Finisher at the State Championships will qualify. $50 Deposits Due at Tar Heel State Classic OR State Championships. The State Freestyle & Greco-Roman Championships is a State Events hosted by NCUSA each year (others are Jr. High/Elem. State Championships, Tar Heel State Classic, and FS/GR State Championships ).
