2 Heart in our project The project “Your health is your Wealth” advocates health promoting attitudes such as proper nutrition. It has been designed to treat ourselves better in terms of well-being. By taking care of our mind and body, we can significantly improve the quality of our lives. The logo of our project is a symbol of the heart. It suggests that the heart of our project is the body-mind connection. And what’s a better way to show it than with a drawing of a heart, an organ believed to be responsible for our feelings and the state of our mind?

3 Heart in our body The heart is a muscle in humans and other animals, which pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system. Blood provides the body with oxygen and nutrients, as well as assists in the removal of metabolic wastes. The heart is located in the middle of the chest and is approximately the size of our fist.

4 Heart in our body Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the most common cause of death globally as of 2008, accounting for 30% of deaths. Of these, more than three quarters are a result of coronary artery disease and stroke. Risk factors include: smoking, being overweight, little exercise, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and poorly controlled diabetes, among others. Cardiovascular diseases frequently have no symptoms or may cause chest pain or shortness of breath.

5 Foods that are good for our heart
Fish (especially salmon, sardine and mackerel) They contain omega-3 fatty acids, shown in studies to lower the risk of arrhythmia (irregular heart beat) and atherosclerosis (plaque build-up in the arteries) and decrease triglycerides.

6 Foods that are good for our heart
Dark chocolate Several studies have now shown that dark chocolate may benefit your heart, including one in 2012 that found that daily chocolate consumption could reduce nonfatal heart attacks and stroke in people at high risk for these problems. The findings applied only to dark chocolate, meaning chocolate made up of at least 60-70% cocoa. Dark chocolate contains flavonoids called polyphenols, which may help lower blood pressure, clotting, and inflammation.

7 Heart and physical activity
Being physically active is important to prevent heart disease and stroke. This includes things like climbing stairs or playing sports. Aerobic exercises benefit your heart, and include walking, jogging, swimming or biking. Strength and stretching exercises are best for overall stamina and flexibility. The simplest, positive change you can make to effectively improve your heart health is to start walking. It's enjoyable, free, easy, social and great exercise. A walking routine is flexible and boasts high success rates because people can stick with it. It's easy for walking to become a regular and satisfying part of life.

8 Heart and stress Everyone experiences stress and reacts to it in different ways. Stress may affect behaviors and factors that increase the risk of heart disease: physical inactivity and overeating, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels . When you are stressed your body releases adrenaline, a hormone that temporarily increases your breathing and heart rate that prepares you for handling stressful situations - the "fight or flight" response. When stress is constant, your body remains in high gear off and on for days or weeks at a time. Although the link between stress and heart disease isn’t clear, chronic stress may cause some people to drink too much alcohol which may increase your blood pressure and damage the artery walls.

9 Heart and attitude With the right attitude we can have everything, and achieve anything. It can also apply to our heart. You need to stay positive, eat better, to be physically active and to avoid stress. Then you can reach a higher level of happiness.
