16. Early decision & early Action
Apply to colleges of your choice by deadlines & select Early Decision or Early Action on your application.
Early Decision Rules:
Only commit to ONE school when choosing Early Decision, usually this is your 1st Choice College
If you commit to Early Decision with a school, you must attend that school
You will know, usually before the end of the Fall semester if you are admitted to your Early Decision school choice
Early Action Rules:
You may commit to more than one school with Early Action
You will know, usually in the Early Spring semester if you are admitted
You may wait until May 1st to make your final decision on which college to attend

QuestBridge aims to increase the percentage of talented low-income students attending the nation’s best colleges.
Academic Achievement:
In the top 5% or 10% of their class.
Have received mostly A’s in the most rigorous classes available.
Strong standardized test scores
Financial Qualification:
Household income is less than $65,000 a year, and often less for a typical family of four, with minimal assets.
Often eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
Personal Circumstances:
Often in the first generation in their family to attend a four-year U.S. college.
Strong personal character and unusually high level of family responsibility (caring for siblings, part-time work to support family financially, etc.)
Extracurricular achievements, such as leadership or community activities.

If you have a social security number for DACA, do not submit a FAFSA. You will complete a DREAM ACT Application
If you have a social security number, be sure that your name on ALL of your applications is spelled exactly the same as it is on your Social Security card.

Nov. 1st- Two Letters of Recommendation for your Scholarship are due to Ms. Emery (Part 2). These can be from teachers, employers, coaches, etc.
Nov. 6- Nov 9th: Attend RMHS College Application Workshops during lunch in Room 402 to work on & review your application with your Counselor before you submit it.
UC application submission November 1–30, ~ Four personal insight questions required in application (available now on website)

23. DECEMBER ~
Dec. 1st- WebGrant Account Workshop through social studies classrooms. Seniors MUST create a WebGrant account after completing the FAFSA or CADAA in order to claim your Financial Aid.
Sign-up for the ASVAB in the Career Center if you are interested in joining the Military.
The week of Dec. 4th, meet with your counselor if you are interested in going on a Shortened Day second semester (see requirements)
