3 Make It Quick! 3 Click Class Name of appropriate tile
2. On Classroom Assessment Tile, click Choose Make It Quick! 4. Fill in Assessment Identification Grade, Subject, Course, Type, Term, Content, Description (Important), Year Click 5. Column 2: Key in number of desired items 6. Column 3: Number of available items 7. Generate Assessment 8. Review test; make changes as needed (hover over icons for descriptions) To set print option of 1- or 2-columns, use Configure icon To set number of forms, use Configure icon or click green + (top right) 11. To add more items to test:, click green + 12. PROOF the final test (blue thumb will turn green) 3 Edit Item Preview Manual Replace Auto Replace Erase Item

4 Administer Online Tests
Students Students must use the correct address: 2. Provide students with: Test ID Number & Student ID Number (on Dashboard) Click “Start” to begin test process 4. Watch the “Snake Eyes!” Left = Connection to Thinkgate’s Database Right = Connection to Internet (LEA) 5. Use “Previous” or “Next” buttons as needed 6. Click “Finish” only when test is completely finished—game is over! Teachers Open Test Dashboard – Refresh (F5) or use Refresh icon often! Click Enable/Disable Click a checkmark next to student name if present for testing Click a checkmark next to specific student name to unlock, suspend, continue, retake or key scores manually Status column should show “In Process” Watch the “Snake Eyes!” 4 Retake Key Scores Manually Suspend Unlock Enable Disable Monitor Status Test ID #

5 Print Reports 5 1. Click “Reporting” 2. Click “Expand” icon
3. Enter Search Criteria as needed 4. Click on actual “score” of desired class A popup box displays available reports) Most teachers choose Progress & Distractor Save in EXCEL, if desired 5

6 Bubble Sheets 6 Click Class Name of appropriate tile
2. Click Dashboard from State, District or Classroom Assessment tile 3. Place a checkmark by appropriate student/s 4. Click Bubble Sheets icon 5. Select type of bubble sheet desired: Student Form (preprinted student name & ID) Roster Form (prints all student names in the class on one form) Blank Form (all info must be filled in by teacher or student) Click Print button (Important: Set Page Scaling to NONE) Test cannot be deleted once bubble sheets are printed 6

7 Scan a Test - Plain Paper
Bubble in Form IDs (501 unless otherwise noted) Straighten bubble sheets before loading (facing same direction) Place bubble sheets Face-Up into scanner Click Elements Scan icon located on the desktop 5. Log in with your Elements User Name & Password 6. Click the “Scan” button 7. Click Upload Results button 8. Click OK 9. Open Test Dashboard to view imported results 10. “Refresh” to see student scores (F5) or 11. Go to “Reporting” from Main Menu to print results TIPS: A red circle with a white exclamation point displays on Scans icon if errors occurred; click this icon to repair errors Go to Reference Center for further information to correct scan errors 7

8 Remove Distractors 8 Open test with “Edit” icon
Click on “Edit” icon of question to be changed or updated 3. Highlight & delete distractor/s to be removed Repeat as needed TIP: Student will still see the letter of distractors removed, but no answer choice will be visible. 8

Target (Share) A Test After a classroom assessment is proofed, it may be shared with other teachers that teach the same course Click Class Name of appropriate tile Click the Assessment Name link for desired test 3. Click Expand icon on the Targets tile 4. Select Teacher radio button under Target List 5. Select Find Targets button 6. Select Add check box to select teacher/s who may administer the test 7. Select Attach Targets button 8. Close screen and return to Assessment Details screen 9. Refresh (F5 or right click to choose refresh) TIP: See Reference Center on how to Remove a Target 9

10 Anticipated Grades 10 Click Class Name of appropriate tile Click Type
3. Choose Post Assessment 4. Click Anticipated Grade icon 6. SAVE 10 Enter an Anticipated Grade for each student This is an “estimated” grade Does not include attendance Does not include expected score on state exam Use letter grades of A, B, C, D or F Important: Key in a grade for ALL students on roster

11 Credentials 11 Click Class Name of appropriate tile
2. Click Type to choose “Credential” 3. Click Dashboard of desired Credential 4. Click a checkmark by appropriate student/s 5. Click Manual icon 6. Choose True (attempted credential & passed) False (attempted credential, but did not pass) Blank (did not attempt credential) 7. 11

12 Copy a Test from Prior Year
Select Assessment from Main Menu option 2. Click Expand icon on Classroom Assessments tile 3. Select criteria for Grade, Subject and Course 4. Select the prior Year 5. Click the Search button 6. Click desired Assessment Name 7. On Content tile, click Edit icon 8. Click Copy icon 9. Select desired Term 10. Enter a Description for the test 11. Select Current Year 12. Select Copy button A message displays “This is a copy of a previous viewed test” 13. Proof the new test 12

13 Read Alouds & Accommodations
Read aloud accommodations are automatically assigned to a student via a file upload. Therefore, it is important that changes in student accommodations are current and correct in Easy IEP. How to View Accommodations Click Test Results icon for desired class Click Accommodations tab 3. May save & print to EXCEL 4. Keep this data secure Online Testing Read Aloud Functionality When the Easy IEP file “hits” Thinkgate, there are 5 Test Accommodation codes which will trigger a read aloud option on online tests: RAS + CTE (Read aloud to self) RAO + CTE (Test administrator reads aloud) RAE + CTE (Test administrator reads aloud-everything) RSR + CTE (Test administrator reads aloud-by student request) CRS + CTE (Computer reads test aloud-student controlled) Students with read aloud accommodations Simply click the Speaker icon and the text is read To pause, hover over the center of the circle--a pause button displays After text has been read, a play button displays; to listen to the text again, click the Play button 13 Roster District Results NCCTE Results Accommodations

14 Online Testing Tools What Students See After Logging into Test Site: ! Facts About Online Testing Tools: If an online tool is assigned, all students taking test have access. Online tools may not be assigned to specific students. Highlighting tool does not apply to external tests. Online tools may be configured before or after test is proofed. Instructions to students for using online tools may be included and will display after students log into test site. How to Configure Online Testing Tools: If currently on Content Assessment Screen, click Configuration icon. If test has been proofed, click Assessment Name hyperlink, then click Edit icon on the Configuration tile. 15 Troubleshooting 15 Status Column does not show “In Process”
On Teacher Dashboard, click checkmark by student name Click Suspend icon Have student exit from Elements Have student log back into Elements (use same computer) Never click “Reset” icon or student will lose all prior answers Send to IMC Locked Out of Test Click a checkmark next to student name Click the Continue icon Student should be able to click on test screen to continue test Unable to Log onto Test Did student use correct website address? (Watch!!!) Did student follow teacher’s instructions to get to the correct web address? Did student use correct Test ID? Did student use correct Student ID? Did student reverse location for Test ID & Student ID? Did teacher enabled the test? Did teacher click a checkmark by students present for test? System Sluggish or Crashes Watch FirstClass – IMC will notify teachers of statewide issues Notify Building Test Coordinator (CDC’s) Wait minutes “Countdown” Issue (probably means connectivity has been disrupted) Teacher: Click checkmark next to affected student/s name Teacher: Click “Suspend” on teacher dashboard Student: Exit Elements and shut down computer Student: Restart computer Teacher: Checkmark next to affected student/s name Teacher: Click Continue icon on teacher dashboard Student: Log back into test, continue test, click FINISH 15
