4 POINTS OF INTEREST ASSESSMENT
The End of Course Assessment (Class of 2018) requirement must be met in English 10 and Algebra I in order to receive a diploma and Biology ECA must be taken. The class of 2019 and beyond will need to pass ISTEP Math, ISTEP English, and take ISTEP Science. If not passed—remediation classes are required Freshmen have earned credits Sophomores have earned credits Juniors have earned credits Seniors have earned 30 or more credits In order to graduate you must attend at least 7 semesters.

5 POINTS OF INTEREST REPEAT GRADES
Courses may be repeated to fulfill graduation requirements. Both courses will appear on the transcript. Repeat grades are designated with “R.” The highest grade is figured in the GPA. Students who repeat courses=no valedictorian or salutatorian.

6 REQUIRED CURRICULAR PROGRAM
FRESHMAN YEAR--English 9, Math, Science, PE, and Recommended Electives in: World Language, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Practical Arts SOPHOMORE YEAR--English 10, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health JUNIOR YEAR—English 11, Math, U.S. History SENIOR YEAR—English 12, Government, Economics

7 I.U ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Core 40 or AHD (AHD is preferred) At least 34 credits of College-prep classes Math through Pre-Calculus (B-level work) Two years of World Language 3.3 or higher GPA SAT or ACT scores (MUST be sent from testing agency) - the middle 50 percent range of SAT scores (critical reading and math only) for admitted freshmen was 1110–1300 (Old SAT scale) and (New SAT scale). The middle 50 percent range of ACT scores was 25–31. Positive academic trends

8 REQUIRED COURSES --12th GRADE
ENGLISH 12 – English 12, English 12 AP, or ACP W131/L202 GOVERNMENT--Government Core 40, or Government Honors ECONOMICS-- Economics Core 40, or AP Microeconomics

9 REQUIRED COURSES – 11th GRADE
ENGLISH 11- Novels and Speech or English 11 AP MATH (usually Geometry or above) SOCIAL STUDIES—U.S. History Core 40 or U.S. HISTORY AP

10 REQUIRED COURSES – 10th GRADE
ENGLISH 10—ENGLISH 10 C40 or ENGLISH 10 HONORS MATH (Algebra, Geometry, or Algebra II or above) SCIENCE (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICP, or above) WORLD HISTORY or GEO/HISTORY OF THE WORLD (C40 or Honors) HEALTH (1 semester)

11 ACADEMIC HONORS DIPLOMA
English 8 credits Math 8 credits-starting with Algebra I Science 6 credits Social Studies World Language 6 or 8 credits Fine Arts 2 credits Health and Wellness 1 credit PE 2 credits--2 semesters Directed Electives 5 credits Electives TOTAL 47 credits Complete 1 of the following: A: 2 AP courses and exams B: Dual HS/College Courses=6 college credits C: 1 AP course/exam and dual credit (3 college credits) D: SAT=1750 or ACT=26 No grade within the 47 credits lower than a “C-” may count. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

12 ACADEMIC HONORS DIPLOMA
Courses may be repeated. Both courses will appear on the transcript. Both courses are included in the GPA. NOTE: Students WILL complete year-long courses (expected commitment to achieve this diploma type)…”Beware Senioritis”

13 CORE 40 with TECHNICAL HONORS
Complete all requirements for Core 40. Earn 6 credits in the college and career preparation courses in a state-approved College & Career Pathway and one of the following: 1. State approved, industry recognized certification or credential, or 2. Pathway dual credits from the approved dual credit list resulting in 6 transcripted college credits Earn a grade of “C” or better in courses that will count toward the diploma. Have a grade point average of a “B” or better. Complete one of the following: A. Any one of the options (A - F) of the Core 40 with Academic Honors B. Earn the following scores or higher on WorkKeys; Reading for Info – Level 6, Applied Mathematics – Level 6, and Locating Information-Level 5. C. Earn the following minimum score(s) on Accuplacer: Writing 80, Reading 90, Math 75. D. Earn the following minimum score(s) on Compass; Algebra 66 ,Writing 70, Reading 80.

15 COURSE SELECTION PROCEDURES
Choose courses wisely--8 classes each semester. Check prerequisites. Select course level (Core 40, Honors, AP) carefully. Prioritize electives. List Alternate courses—indicate semesters Note: Students should re-select for next year any required “core classes” which are currently being failed (math, science, social studies, English, etc.) again indicating semesters

16 COURSE SELECTION PROCEDURES
Honors and AP courses require review and authorization-Teacher signature on your selection sheet is required. Four academic courses are required each semester (math, English, social studies, science, etc.) Selections should be made very carefully as NO changes will be approved after the scheduling window!

HHCC classes are half day or half day every other day. 19 COURSE SELECTION PROCEDURES
Senior Internships, Cadet Teaching, Community Service require good attendance, your own transportation. Eligible students may attend classes at IU (through the IU Open Program) or Ivy Tech during the school day. The university class must not disrupt BHSN class time and transportation is required. Preliminary schedules will be given to students before the end of the school year.

20 SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS--DROP/ADD
NO student may drop or add a course after schedule requests have been submitted. Exceptions: Changes needed to insure timely graduation (i.e. retaking a required course due to failure) Mistakes made via data entry A student is misplaced
