4 CMA Scholarship Please nominate your best students!
Top students are recognized with a scholarship that covers all costs with the CMA exam. Open to all students (undergrad & master) Faculty must nominate students Open during the academic year (Sept 1 – June 1) The CMA Scholarship is available for top students who are interested in pursuing the CMA designation. Faculty can nominate the top 5% or 5 (whichever is larger) of their undergraduate accounting students, as well as the top 5% or 5 (whichever is larger) of their graduate accounting students to receive this scholarship. Students who receive the scholarship fill receive, at no cost: Three years of IMA membership Entrance into the CMA Program Two CMA exam sitting fees The CMA Scholarship has a value of about $1,000 per student! Please nominate your best students! 4

To receive endorsement, IMA considers: Substantially (75%) all of the learning aims of the CMA program are met at the appropriate cognitive level There are adequate faculty resources to deliver the program The program is accredited by a recognized accreditation organization The campus has an IMA Campus Advocate 7

10 Campus Advocate Campus Advocates are the point-of-contact on campus for information about careers in management accounting, IMA and the CMA designation Campus Advocates do not have to be IMA members, however, they may qualify for free membership and waiver of CMA program fees Over 300 Campus Advocates since program launched in 2013! 10

18 Student Case Competition
Teams of students respond to a case by preparing and submitting a video-taped presentation to judges selected from IMA members Provides students with real-world challenges and the opportunity to: Analyze a case Develop of solution Present solution to an audience Receive recognition for their efforts This year’s case: Case title: “Profits on Trial at Darby & Larkin, LLC” Entries must be submitted by February 2, 2017 Four finalist teams will receive cash stipend and complimentary registration at IMA’s Annual Conference & Exposition in Denver, CO (June 2017) New case becomes available in August of each year 18

Recognition program for top accounting students. Enables students at all accredited schools to be recognized for their academic achievement. Management Accounting: A Business Planning and Analysis Perspective Authors: C.J. McNair and Kenneth A. Over the last 10 years, the Foundation has funded more than 120 proposal submissions, providing approximately $1,000,000 in research grants to academics and doctoral students. 22

Faculty: Faculty Research Grants Incubator grant program (up to $5,000) Deadline: January 31 Applied Research Track at IMA Annual Conference Doctoral programs: Doctoral Student Grants Doctoral Summer Research Scholarship ($5,000) Deadline: April 15 January 31 CMA Doctoral Scholarship (take CMA exam at not cost plus online review materials)

27 Guidelines for Grant Proposal Submissions
Budget with appropriate level of detail for funding request. The following types of costs are eligible for reimbursement: Purchase or rental of custom databases, application software. Transportation and other costs of data collection. Costs associated with developing research engagements, partnerships, or arrangements. Data entry, supplies, word processing, copying, telephone, postage, transcription, and subject stipends. Journal submission fees. Other reasonable costs associated with the project. IRF does not generally fund salaries or living expenses, but reasonable stipends will be considered. Grant recipients are expected to commit to a presentation of their research findings at an IMA conference.

29 Research proposals may be from any area in management accounting.
Scholarship winner will receive a $5,000 stipend. $1,250 on June 1st; $1,250 on July 1st; $1,250 receipt of the initial draft $1,250 receipt of the final approved research paper. Free one-year membership with IMA Deadline: April 15
