Programming Offerings
Welcoming Diversity Trainings for classrooms.
Annual day long diversity training for all new employees.
Facilitates conversations on topics with opposing viewpoints, such as undocumentated immigrants, free tuition for community college, the arming of Campus Police, and the raising of fees to offset budget issues.
Serve on search committees for the College to help insure that diversity and inclusion is a priority in hiring.
Serve as facilitators for college-wide workshops on White Privilege and Eliminating Racism for the college community
College’s Institutional Professional Days with various workshops to help bring people together.
Present off-campus at the state-wide Teaching, Learning and Student Development Conferences
Facilitate focus groups of students regarding the cultural climate and diversity of NSCC.
Trained sister community colleges that are part of the NCBI Consortium present One Day Diversity and Inclusion Workshops.

Faces of NSCC
Part of NSCC shared governance since 2002
Identifying and ensuring the provision of services that meet the needs of our diverse student population.
Participating in the recruitment and hiring of faculty and staff by representing the DLC on search committees.
Raising awareness and celebrating diversity with activities.
Developing linkages with diversity groups on campus.
