2 My Goal My goal is to find the most efficient form of electricity. Our two most used forms of electricity are Electrical Energy and Fossil Fuels. They are very beneficial, but are damaging our earth greatly. I have decided to focus my studies on ten different electrical energies to find an alternative. - Electrical Energy - Fossil Fuels - Natural Gases - Nuclear Energy - Wind Energy - Bioenergy - Geothermal Energy - Hydroelectric Electricity - Solar Energy - Radiant Energy

4 Electrical Energy Pros Cons Is reliable.
Runs through power lines, which are everywhere. Is a steady source of power. Comes from both renewable and non-renewable sources. Can be very dangerous. Causes pollution. Is affecting Global warming.

5 Fossil Fuels

6 Fossil Fuels Pros Cons Can generate good amounts of energy within long periods of time. Run on coal, oil, and gas. Produce a lot of carbon dioxide. Affect climate change. Can cause acid rain. Can cause sulphurous oxide. Can cause pollutants. Is Non-renewable.

8 Natural Gases Pros Cons
Can be used as the first transition to a positive energy system. Are a very flexible system – Has many possibilities. Will be a cheaper alternative as the price for carbon dioxide rises. Generates less carbon dioxide than fossil fuels. Are at the moment a more expensive energy source than most. Are non-renewable. Are explosive. Companies are not required to indicate when they use fracking chemicals, chemicals used force open fissures and extract oils or gas.

10 Nuclear energy Pros Cons Is cheap. Has low pollution.
Is consistent and depends on reliable constants, unlike wind and solar energy that depends on the weather. Is collected in bigger masses than most energies. Is un-renewable. Transportation can cause pollution. Can cause radiation. Can be dangerous. Can cause harm to animal and plant life, including humans.

12 Wind Energy Pros Cons Does not produce Carbon Dioxide.
Has no fuel cost. Is renewable Has no extra cost other than the infrastructure. Is dependant on the weather, an inconsistent factor and often unpredictable. Makes noise. Are considered an eyesore. Need empty plains for wind farms, which are generally located in rural areas. Has had negative effects on air wildlife.

Pros Cons Is Carbon Neutral. Can come from bacteria. Is a renewable fuel. Available naturally everywhere. Turns waste into energy. More expensive than fossil fuels. Larger quantities are difficult to accumulate. May have an affect on food production. Some fuels are seasonal. Is difficult to upgrade the process from where it stands.

16 Geothermal Energy Pros Cons Has little to no emissions.
Has no discharge of Carbon Dioxide. Requires no fossil fuels. Can scrap out sulfur that could have been released otherwise. Is virtually an endless supplier. Doesn’t have very much flexibility when it comes to choosing location. Has a high water usage. Must have high observation in heat usage to make sure it does not overheat. Drilling into hot rocks is hard. Site construction is expensive.

Pros Cons Has little to no impact on the environment, Has no fuel cost. Has a long economic life. Hydro power plants are encroachments to other landscapes. Can negatively affect rivers. Is expensive. Can have a negative effect on aquatic and marine animals.

20 Solar Energy Pros Cons Is renewable. Is non-polluting.
Is low maintenance. Has very low operating costs. Is quiet and nothing moves. Is very efficient. More expensive than Natural Gases Is visually unattractive / In the way. Have irregular cycles. Only produces energy in small mases. Panel construction can cause pollution. Cannot be install everywhere.

21 Radiant Energy

22 Radiant Energy Pros Cons Generates little carbon dioxide.
Generates electricity in large quantities. Costs for fuel, operation, and maintenance are low. Have no chain reactions, easy to control and cease. Generates a lot of non-disposable waste. Is very expensive to build power plants. Could produce massive amounts of negative energy instead of being productive.

23 My proposal Natural Gases:
For our benefit, I believe Natural Gases would be the most efficient form of energy to use. We could easily use Natural Gases as a first transition to a more green energy era, replacing first Fossil Fuels, and then slowing adding in other green energies such as Wind Power and Solar Energy. It is a very flexible system and we could try many things with it during a testing stage. It does not generate as much Carbon Dioxide, if any, as some other energy sources.

24 How We Do It Right now prices for Natural Gases are higher than the prices for Carbon Dioxide and Fossil Fuels, but are expected to drop in the near future. I think our best bet would be to wait for the prices of Carbon Dioxide to rise with productivity as demand rates increase and then throw in Natural Gases as it’s price drops in comparison. There is a bit of danger in this energy source but then again what energy source is fully safe? I believe that in this scenario the pros outweigh the cons, and that if we want a environment-friendly electricity draw, we need to start with this.
