Support 150 medium firms through WSP/ATR Grants Actual number of medium firms that received Grants is 158 Support 845 small levy paying firms 745 Small levy paying firms were supported At least workers achieved ABET level 1-4 9 460 workers achieved ABET level 1-4 1 000 workers to enter learning programmes No workers were supported from discretionary grants. 113,286 were supported from mandatory grants September 2006 SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises

Learnership and Internship Provincial Implementation Report From 2097 unemployed learners trained 1994 were trained through Learnership and 103 through Internship programmes. Although Eastern Cape (EC), Northern Cape (NC) and North West (NW) reflects 0% on the graph, the Learnership programmes for 2004/05 continued in the 2005/06 financial year: 300 Learners in EC 180 Learners in NC 108 Learners in NW September 2006 SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises

Support to FET Colleges (ICT Train the Trainer programme for Lecturers) Northern Cape Northern Cape Rural FET College Kathu Campus* Western Cape False Bay FET College Good Hope Campus-Khayelitsha South Cape College (Karoo) Beaufort West Campus The Department of Communication has committed R10m and the Isett Seta R 6, 28m (R 16,28m) to roll-out the capacity building programme to 18 FET colleges across nine (9) provinces. MoUs with provincial Departments of Education will be concluded. September 2006 SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises

18 Future Plans for the Isett Seta
Labour To implement Learnership and Internship programmes in under represented provinces in partnership with provincial governments. To further train and up-skill unplaced learners. To secure experiential training and placement opportunities for unemployed graduates. To date 408 graduates trained and placed at a total cost of R 18, 36m. To further train 3000 graduates on the internship programmes in the next 18 months as part of the JIPSA programme. To procure R 85m from the NSF to achieve set objectives. Future Plans Forge partnerships with provincial governments when implementing ICT Learnership and Internship programmes. Continued support to SMME training providers.
