3 Services Overview What are the main services you provide? (i.e., determine financial aid, register for classes, etc.) Recruitment, Prospect data collection; Responding to Requests, Processing Applications, Coordinating with Financial Aid How do you provide these services? (i.e., online self-service, in person, paper forms, etc.) Website, print materials, phone, email, walk in, information sessions, informational interview, off campus events (grad school fairs and agency visits); send virtual.brynmawr passwords to applicants so they can monitor their application requirements and financial aid checklists online When do you provide these services? (i.e., year round, spring semester, etc.) Year round; recruiting heaviest in fall; applications in spring—rolling admissions through summer. [Advanced standing apps. due in Feb.; acceptances Mar. through April] What are your peak periods for each service? September through May for recruitment; February through May for applications; but rolling admissions into early August

4 Relation to Other Areas What are the “hand-offs” to other areas? (Identify both the hand-off and the other area(s)) Hand off goes to GSSWSR Dean’s Office, Field Office, Financial Aid, and Public Information, International. All admissions prospect and applicant data are entered in PeopleSoft for use by Institutional Research and other college offices.

7 Issues Unique to your Area School is a professional school (CSWE) Students represent a wide range of ages (average is 35), experience and length of time since undergraduate degree Priority deadline is March 15, but people apply through July; rolling admissions Different perspective in terms of financial aid; many are employed full time and/or have family responsibilities and are paying for their education themselves. A lot of personal contact throughout the admissions process. Relationships extend throughout the time they are here from prospect through alumni status Personalized attention is often rated as exceptional by applicants and prospects and cited as a prime reason for choosing Bryn Mawr. All of the administrative staff is aware of what goes on in the various departments Size of the program in relation to GSAS and undergrad-(approx. 200 Masters; 35 PhD) Sense of community as defined by our location with ties to the larger campus Field instruction internships are a central part of the M.S.S. curriculum (students spend two or three days in supervised field placements)

Quicker response to IT requests and equal access to IT services, support & development When things are initiated that the needs of Social Work be on the front end
