Execution of the Genocide 1908 group called Young Turks rose Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) emerged from Young Turks First deported all Armenians from homes, were told they were being resettled elsewhere Forced to walk in hot weather, most died along the way People who disobeyed were gruesomely killed with swords http://www.armenian-genocide.org http://www.thecuttingedgenews.com

International Response Genocide was generally ignored for majority of the time News of Genocide created public outcry; May 1915, Britain, France, Russia and U.S. called for justice by punishing the Young Turks Despite later moral outrages, no strong actions put in tact Near East Relief: Group made after war to help surviving Armenians http://www.armenian-genocide.org/

Genocide Ending Even today, many are unsure of the ending because many believe there was no such genocide Young Turks were overthrown by new Turkish government and Armenians were set free from bondage http://www.armenian-genocide.org/

Justice Attempts Most leaders of genocide evaded justice; only few leaders such as Talaat, an important architect of the genocide, was put to death and some put in jail for lifetime sentence for crimes against humanity Issue was nearly dismissed until 30 years later where it was put to trial again http://www.armenian-genocide.org/ http://www.umd.umich.edu

Justice Attempts Armenian Genocide is a controversial topic; many do not believe it happened and deny existence of events Rumors say Armenians also killed Turkish people in the same time period and that they lived luxuriously http://www.armenian-genocide.org/ http://www.umd.umich.edu
