2 Francis Bacon (1561-1626)  Bacon was a central guiding force to the emerging modern worldview.

5 Biography  Francis Bacon entered Trinity College when he was just 12 years old!

6 Trinity College Library  Bacon felt a life of scholarship would be vain if that knowledge had no practical purpose (he was much disgusted by scholasticism).

7 Bacon’s Literary Career  Bacon’s greatest intellectual contribution was his championing of modern science and the scientific method.
