3 Christmas It is the most popular holiday. The British celebrate X-mas on the 25th of December. Before Christmas people decorate their trees with toys and coloured lights. People send each other greeting cards and buy presents for the family and friends.

4 Christmas Christmas is a family holiday. Relatives usually meet for the big Christmas dinner. Traditional dishes are a turkey, pudding and Christmas pie. Children wait for Father Christmas (Santa Claus). He puts presents into stockings or at the fireplace. At midnight they sing “Jingle Bells” and wish each other Merry Christmas.
