Working together| Business Friends of Haworth Primary School 2 Welcome Helen Thompson, Head Teacher & John Brownless, School Governor The Teachers and Governors at the school are currently developing an important project called “ The Business Friends Of Haworth Primary School”, as we clearly believe that local business can support the school and work in partnership with us to help promote the school as well as your business growth and corporate social responsibility.

Working together| Business Friends of Haworth Primary School 3 Our Challenges Bradford Council has had to cut spending by £172.6m in the last five years because of Government cuts and rising demand for services. cuts are set to continue and we face a budget shortfall of £53.3m over the next two years rising to £125-£130m by 2020. Difficult decisions have to be taken about local spending, services and taxes. Bradford could lose funding of £175 per pupil, a total loss to the District’s maintained schools of around £15m a year. The School has to find new ways of raising revenue to ensure we continue to develop and retain our outstanding and good Ofsted results.

Promote Fitness and Exercise in our School. We would use this outdoor gym equipment either as a break time play and exercise area for children or create an outdoor classroom for P.E. or sports training. Special range of exercise equipment suitable for kids from age 5. Suitable Fitness Equipment for Primary School Continue to make our school a Healthy School Outdoor Fitness Gym Equipment

We would like to improve these facilities so that the school and the community could benefit from them. Just imaging how the school and the community would benefit if such a building could be built on these grounds

8. Working together| Business Friends of Haworth Primary School 8 What are we trying to achieve ? One of our major projects is the desire to introduce an Eco Classroom to the school. There are not many things as important in life as a good education in an excellent learning environment. Unfortunately, due to a lack of government funding there is growing evidence that old and poorly maintained buildings have a detrimental effect on learning and teaching. It is in the primary school setting that the education journey really begins, Inspired Building Systems design and construct innovative, flexible and stimulating buildings that enhances the learning environment during the formative years. We are delighted to have been awarded our fifth Eco Schools Green Flag

Newsletter advertising - every half term we produce our school newsletter “Peach”. We would reserve for you advertising space in every Peach edition (6 per year) and include your flyer inside. Your name or logo featured on two display banners in the school grounds. Both banners will be unmissable to all visitors to Haworth who pass the school and all other users of the Community Building. Providing us with support – This could be via visits to your business, supporting us in school, providing us with goods and materials etc.… Sponsorship of important learning aids such as smart boards and Eco and sports buildings
