Finance iv. Hospitality and Tourism Typically corresponds with the type of test for the category Exception: Principles Events write Business Admin. 13 Non-Qualifying Events 5 events Teams of 1-3 30 page submission, 15 minute presentation, no exam Typical topics involve the assessment and research of business policies, processes, and strategies of an actual local business Business Operations Research Events 6 events Teams of 1-3 30 page submission, 15 minute presentation, no exam Members lead the chapter in a community initiative Chapter Team Events Non-competitive Full day of skill building led by a professional facilitator Ideal for junior members; grade 9-11 only No submission Leadership Development Academy Submissions: January 12 th, 2017 2. 14 Virtual Business Challenge Accounting, Personal Finance, Hotel, Restaurant, Retail, or Sports Computerized simulation 1 to 3 per team Goal: Manage marketing concepts and strategies to maximize profits (or optimize personal net worth through financial decision making) Scores posted and viewed online Registration starts on October 11, 2016 Round One starts Oct. 24, 2016, 10 a.m. and ends November 18, 2016, 5 p.m. Stock Market Game Consists of written document and oral presentation 1 to 3 per team Goal: increase value of beginning stock portfolio September 6, 2016 through December 16, 2016 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 3, 2016 FIRST TRADE starts: 4PM October 17, 2016 LAST TRADE ends: 4PM December 15, 2016 Online Events ▪ Parallel to other competitive events ▪ Winners recognized at Provincial Competition ▪ Multiple category winners at Provincials must choose one category for Internationals Online + On-Going 3.
