Finance iv. Hospitality and Tourism Typically corresponds with the type of test for the category Exception: Principles Events write Business Admin. Core Exam Exception: Personal Financial Literacy write Financial Literacy Exam 2. Career Pathway Corresponds with indicators specific to careers relevant to the industry 3. Instructional Area Corresponds with indicators specific to areas of knowledge

12 Virtual Business Challenge Personal Finance, Restaurant, Retail, or Sports Computerized simulation 1 to 3 per team Goal: Manage marketing concepts and strategies to maximize profits (or optimize personal net worth through financial decision making) Scores posted and viewed online Registration: Oct. 6 th Round 1: Oct. 20 th Stock Market Game Consists of written document and oral presentation 1 to 3 per team Goal: increase value of beginning stock portfolio Sept.8 th – Dec. 12 th with 3 trades by Oct. 25 th Online Events  Parallel to other competitive events  Winners recognized at Provincial Competition  Multiple category winners at Provincials must choose one category for Internationals Online + On-Going 3. ICDC: Qualifiers

13  Provincial competition only  1 to 3 per team (cross-school teams permitted)  Prepare and submit 1-page executive summary of business venture  Present venture idea to a panel of judges for questioning  Only 3 spots to continue to international competition in one of three DECA categories: ENPI, ENPF, ENW, or ENI  Must develop a written venture plan based on the presented business idea to meet the criteria of these events  Increase chances to attend internationals: GRIT participants may also participate in a morning GRIT challenge for a chance to win 1 of 20 senior leadership spots GRIT Tank 2.
