9 But first go to Moodle … www.bbk.ac.uk/its Go to the module that you wish to set up for videos Turn Editing On Go to ‘Add a Block’ at the bottom right of the screen Pick ‘Panopto Focus’ This will appear on the screen. Click on the cogwheel to continue.

10 Still in Moodle … www.bbk.ac.uk/its Click on ‘Configure Panopto Focus Block’ Click on ‘Add this course to Panopto’. Click on Save Changes. You are now ready to use Panopto

11 Preparation – Getting Started www.bbk.ac.uk/its 1.Login using your Birkbeck username and password 2.On the desktop, locate the Panopto Recorder 3.If this is not available, contact ITS to get it installed

12 Preparation – Panopto Recorder www.bbk.ac.uk/its Again, login with your Birkbeck username and password

13 Recording – Sound / Camera www.bbk.ac.uk/its 1 – Have your powerpoint and other documents that you plant to use already open 2 – Select the video camera. If you do not wish to be recorded, then select ‘None’ 3 – Select the audio / microphone 4 – Quality.. Select ‘Ultra’ The ‘Secondary Capture Sources’ can normally be ignored

15 Stopping the Recording www.bbk.ac.uk/its 1 - Click on ‘STOP’ 2 - Click on OK 3 - It will then take a few seconds for your recording to be ready 1 2 3

16 Saving and Sharing www.bbk.ac.uk/its 1 - When the recording is finished – you will get this tab on the screen 2 - The video will be available to anybody enrolled in the relevant moodle module 3 - “Anyone on the Internet” allows you to specify the email addresses of any additional people that you wish to view the video (Contrary to its name, it does NOT post the video on the Internet)

17 Editing 1 - Videos can be edited. It is possible to remove sections or to add in external content. 2 - Editing is useful for longer videos or if your work is going to a larger audience 3 - In most cases it is not required 4 - This is examined in more depth in a later video

18 Logging out and Leaving www.bbk.ac.uk/its 1 - Once you have this screen (about 10 seconds after finishing the recording), you can logout from the recorder 2 - Then close your other documents and log out from the computer as normal
