2. Four from the OMF gang meet in Atlanta for a trip to Augusta to watch a practice round, with Des Moines native Mike McCoy in the field. MASTERS TRIP 2014

3. I drove from Inverness, Florida to the Atlanta Airport to pick up Max and Steve from their flight from Des Moines. Unfortunately, I ran into traffic on I-75 that delayed me over two hours.

4. It would appear the boys were busy while waiting for me to pick them up!

5. On Saturday, before heading to Augusta, we played in a 27 hole partner golf tournament at Chicopee Woods. Terry and I were partners and I pulled up lame after nine holes. I did make a comeback and eagled the difficult 19 th hole.

6. We were given four tickets for the Monday practice round, and drove from Gainesville, Ga to Augusta. Arrived just in time for the course to be closed and practice round cancelled. Fortunately, the Titleist Tour Rep was able to get us four new tickets for Tuesday. Thank You Mac Fritz and Titleist.

7. The four OMF group at the scoreboard. For me, the event was more about seeing old friends, than it was about watching professional golfers.

8. This is the VIP are with nice tables, chairs and umbrellas. Kind of pissed that we weren’t in there.

10. Mike McCoy with Steve and Max lurking in the background. Mike qualified by winning the National Mid-Am, doing so as a Senior. Very impressive accomplishment. Mike also is a Trans Miss Champion, but I don’t remember him beating me in the Des Moines City Championship.

15. Mike enjoying his Masters experience. What a thrill it must have been. I remember playing in the US Open and still have some great memories from that.

16. Pictures during the round. While Steve, Max and Terry roamed the golf course, I headed to the snack bar for some food, beverage, and a chair to sit.

17. I remember when I thought $3 for a beer, that there better be a scantly clad female dancing at the table. Prices for food and beverage are very modest for the Masters tournament.

18. I saw Peter Broome and Joe Naumann from Titleist. Joe is a lawyer from Dubuque, Iowa and was probably analyzing my comments. Peter is a friend of Mike McCoy, as they both belong to Pine Valley and Seminole.

19. Great to see Rick Brown from the Des Moines Register newspaper. Brings back some old memories.

20. I finally hooked up with Jim Nugent. Jim, owns the Global Golf Post, a weekly Golf Internet News Service. Jim was also a caddy at Sunset Ridge in Northbrook, Illinois, when I was an assistant golf professional there.

21. Back at Terry’s enjoying a beer and cigar on the deck, with all my friends.

22. A fun trip and unlike going to a Razorback game, we didn’t lose. Next trip up is Walleye fishing in South Dakota.
