2 Arnold Palmer Arnold Palmer was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1929. He learned golf from his father, Milford Palmer. For College, He attended Wake Forest University. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 3 years. After that, he played golf in the pro tour. He won 62 PGA tour tournaments,10 senior PGA tour wins, 5 other senior wins, and 18 other wins. Making 95 professional wins in all. He has 4 Green Jackets [Master’s Wins.]. He was the ryder cup captain 4 times. His nickname was “The King ”. Arnold Palmer has a huge résumé! He is ranked the sixth greatest golfer of all time. Arnold Palmer is awesome!

3 Jack Nicklaus Jack Nicklaus has 73 PGA tour wins and is 3 rd all time in that category. His nickname is “The Golden Bear”. He was born on January 21, 1940 in Upper Arlington, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University. He won 2 Amateur Championships. Both U.S. Amateurs. He has won 6 Master’s, 4 U.S. Opens, 3 Open Championships, and 5 PGA Tour Championships. He was pro for 44 years. 18 PGA Tour Championship wins in his whole Career. His Father Died in 1970, But he won the Open Championship to end a 2- year losing streak in a Playoff. He has Three Career Grand Slams. Jack Nicklaus is sweet.

4 Tiger Woods Eldrick “ Tiger” Woods was born on December 30, 1975.He was born in Cypress, California When he was 2 he was on the Mike Douglas show carrying a set of golf clubs. At age three, he shot a 48 at the Cypress Navy Course. He broke 80 at age 8. He is second all time in PGA tour wins with 74. He also has 38 European Tour wins. He even won 2 Tournaments in the Japanese golf tour, Japanese! All-in-all, he won 101 Professional Tournaments. As of Now. But, I forgot to tell you But he won 16 major championships. He was FedEx cup winner 2 times. He was the youngest masters winner when he completed the feat in 1997. Tiger Woods is surely a famous golfer.

5 Sam Snead Sam Snead was born in Ashwood, Virginia. At the age of only 7, he began caddying at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. He turned pro in 1934 and joined the PGA Tour in 1936. He quickly gained wins. He won a record 82 PGA Tour wins. 14 Senior wins, and even won an LPGA tour win, The Ladies PGA Tour! He was on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour. But before some of this, He served in the Navy for 3 years. And after all of this, He had 165 Career pro wins. But, the thing was, He only won 7 major Championships. And no U.S. Opens. But Snead is #1 in PGA Tour wins. And that is awesome. But, sadly, he died. But still, Sam Snead is one of the best.

6 Ben Hogan Ben Hogan was born in Stephenville, Texas. They lived 10 miles southwest of Dublin, Texas. Then, they moved 70 miles northeast to Fort Worth, Texas.Sadly, In Fort Worth, his dad died. His older brother quit school at age 14 to deliver office supplies on his bicycle all over town. He sold newspapers at a train station after school. He dropped out of High School to turn into a pro golf player. In 1953, he won 5 of the 6 tournaments he entered. They called the 1953 season the “Hogan Slam” season. All-in- all, He won 64 PGA Tour wins, including 9 PGA Championships. After all of this, he served in the Air Force from 1943 to 1945. He is fourth all time in the PGA Tour wins category. Ben Hogan may have had a sad childhood, but boy, was he good after!

7 Bobby Jones Bobby Jones was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 17, 1902. He may only have won 9 PGA Tournaments, he won the Grand Slam. He is the only player to win the pre-masters Grand Slam. All 9 pro wins were as an amateur. As a young boy he battled health issues. Golf was actually prescribed to strengthen him. He was encouraged by his father, Robert Jones, to play Golf. And he loved it! Bobby Jones, at just 14, Won the Georgia Amateur Championship to advance to the U.S. Amateur. He went to Harvard, Georgia Tech, and Emory University. He retired from golf in 1930. Shortly after it, though, he created Augusta National Golf Club. That is where they played the Masters last year. Sadly, he was diagnosed with syringomyelia. He died in Atlanta, Georgia on December 18 th, 1971. But, he is still famous for being the only pre-masters grand slam.
