5 Our story 1976 Founded by Lloyd Dorfman as a single store currency exchange bureau. 1985 Expanded operations into the Netherlands and Belgium. 1989 Opened first North American locations at JFK International Airport. 2014 Continues worldwide expansion of currency exchange locations reaching 1,500 stores. 1993 Partnered with Mutual of Omaha, taking over stores in 50 terminals at 34 airports. 2000 Acquired Thomas Cook Global & Financial Services. 2005 Apax Partner LP became a majority shareholder of Travelex. 2006 Launched the first Foreign Currency ATM. 2010 Online ordering with in-store pick-up. Card programme sale to MasterCard 2011 First currency exchange company to market a prepaid travel card in Pounds & Euros and to introduce Chip & PIN to the U.S. Global Business Payments sale to Western Union 2013 Became first currency exchange operator nationally recognised by the Chinese government. Acquired Brazil's largest foreign currency company, Confidence. 2015 Lloyd Dorfman, Apax Partners and Standard Chartered, completed the sale of Travelex to Dr Shetty and Centurion Investments. 2016 Our journey continues.

13 What we do Our digital transformation is a significant investment for Travelex, driving growth through digital products, marketing and operations.
