Eighth Resurrection Appearance Matthew 28:16-20, 1 Cor 15:6 (To eleven and 500) Jesus is worshiped on the mountain by the eleven in spite of some remaining unbelief He imparts to them a fact, a command, and a promise. Fact : “All authority has been given unto me in Heaven and upon earth” The Command : “Go therefore, and disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I commanded you” The promise : “Lo I am with you always, until the consummation of the ages”

3. Ninth Resurrection Appearance Mark 16:14-18, Luke 24:44-49 (To the eleven and James) 1 Cor 15:7 He gently rebukes the disciples for their initial unbelief concerning his resurrection He repeats his command for them to evangelize the world He expounds the law of Moses and the Psalms to them He tells them to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. Tenth appearance : Jesus meets the disciples at Mount of Olives Luke 24:50-53. (next week)

5. Resurrection meets every need of our Lives 1.It is your deliverance from the PAST. Rom 6:4-11.Eph 2:1-7, Col. 2:12-15. 2.It is your power for the PRESENT. Rom 8:31-39 3.It is your hope for the FUTURE. Col. 1:18, 1 Cor 15:17-23, 1 Cor 15:50-57, 1 Thes 4:13-18.

6. Need of the Hour After Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to his disciples for 40 days. When they were all gathered together with him on the top of a high hill, He was taken up into heaven before their eyes. Acts 1:11 Jesus gave a very special promise. John 14:16-18, 16:5-7. 7. The Holy Spirit is God Acts 5:3-4, 2 Corinthians 3:17 God has chosen to express Himself to mankind as Father, as Son and as the Holy Spirit. These are the expression of three distinct Persons (Personalities), yet the three are one.

8. The Gift of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:38-39, John 7:37-39 The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to every believer. When a person believes in Jesus, and receives the salvation He offers, the Holy Spirit comes to live in the believer imparting spiritual life.

9. The Work of the Holy Spirit In the believer’s personal life : The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within the believer to minister to him personally He testifies of our relationship with God Rom 8:16, 1 John 3:24 He teaches John 14:26 He guides Rom 8:14 He helps us live a life pleasing to God Gal 5:16, 17-25. He helps us in prayer Rom 8:26 He gives life to our bodies Rom 8:11

10. The Work of the Holy Spirit In the believer for service : God also wants to fill and baptize the believer with the Holy Spirit to empower him to serve and glorify God in the world. He gives power and boldness to witness Acts 1:8, 2:14-40 He introduces the Super Natural realm 1 Cor 12:4, 8-10, Acts 2:4, 10:46, 19:6 He testifies that Jesus is alive Acts 5:30-32, 4:31-33 He brings a fresh understanding of the Word of God 1 Cor 12:9-10, John 16:13 He fills our spirit with true Worship to God Eph 5:18-19, John 4:24 He glorifies Jesus John 16:13-15, 15:26.

11. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit God wants His Holy Spirit, who indwells you because you are a believer in Jesus, to fill you to overflowing with power to serve Him. Eph 5:18 It is a Gift promised by God – so ask for it. Luke 11:13 Begin to praise God as you receive in faith Luke 24:52-53. You can speak with a super natural language Acts 19;6, Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4, 10:45-46, 1 Cor 14:5, 18

12. I thank God for the Gift of the Holy Spirit in my life. I make a decision today to respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and directing. I determine to learn to listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit in my heart. I now open my Spirit to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
