Copyright © 2010 Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd. 7 Limitations on WAN environment (1) Video Compression Format Use of JPEG compression is highly recommended (Audio recording is possible) In case of MPEG-4 or H.264 compression, VPN (Virtual Private News) with dedicated router is recommended. ND200 supports only ‘RTP transmission’ in MPEG-4/H.264 stream from BB-HCM700 series camera and HTTP transmission is not supported. RTP transmission video stream requires unique UDP port, but use of that port may not be permitted in the Internet. (2) Recording Format Only Manual Recording and Schedule Recording are recommended. In case of requirement of Event Recording, VPN is recommended. ND200 uses port number 1818 for “i-Pro alarm protocol” which activate Event Recording from BB-HCM700 series camera, but use of this port may not be permitted on the Internet. (3) “Viewnetcam” ND200 does not support “Viewnetcam”. It is impossible to register ND200 onto “Viewnetcam” and to see the images via WAN. In case of ND200 operation over WAN, VPN or use of fixed IP address service provided by ISP (Internet Service Providers) is necessary. Domain Name can be registered in ND200 camera registration screen. Therefore, BB-HCM700 series camera viewed through the “Viewnetcam” can be registered on WJ- ND200 over WAN. This feature is under the condition and restriction of both Video Compression and Recording Format described above. When the IP address on WAN is changed irregularly, recording will be interrupted even under the use of “Viewnetcam”. (The interruption period depends on the WAN traffic, but basically it would occur in minutes.)

When a certain bit rate is selected, it controls the image data (excluding header data) to stay under the given bit rate. Actual data output is more than the selected bit rate. ->The bit rate is equivalent to the sum of entire network traffic. Example: H.264 VGA with 30 ips 1.5MB (1536kbps) 1.0MB (1024kbps) 1.
