2 H-SS 10.10 Students analyze instances of nation-building in the contemporary world in at least two of the following regions or countries: the Middle East, Africa, Mexico and other parts of Latin America, and China.

5 B. Sri Lanka 1. Sinhalese Buddhists have kept the Hindu Tamils from power, leading to civil war. 2. 2002 agreement to negotiate a separate regional government for the Tamils brought about a ceasefire.

10 C. Northern Ireland 1. Protestants and Catholics have fought over civil rights and the issue of unification with Ireland.
