3. GRADING POLICY FOR LCMS Lewis and Clark Middle School Common Grading Policy Creating a Culture of Responsibility Learning is a process. Assignments/Practice and assessments/evidence are valuable components in mastering content and demonstrating understanding. Assignments/Practice It is expected that assignments/practice will be turned in by the due date. Assessments/Evidence It is expected that students study and prepare for assessment/evidence as scheduled.

4. HOMEWORK, TESTS, AND PROJECTS Homework Time in class will be provided for students to complete their assignments and ask questions. If assignments are not completed in class, it is the student’s responsibility to finish the assignment at home. Most daily assignments are due the next school day. Projects/Tests Student agenda book, PowerSchool, and Teacher Website (Schoolwires) are places to look for due dates of projects and tests.

Quarter 2– The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; by Mark Twain and for their independent reading project they will pick a Newbery medal winner/ YRC/ or an award winning book. Quarter 3– The Diary of Ann Frank (play); by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and a nonfiction book for their independent reading project, or they can pick The Children of Willesden Lane; by Mona Golabek and Lee Cohen (on their own) Quarter 4– a variety of Poetry, Prose, and Dramas and or their independent reading project they will pick a science fiction or fantasy novel. 11. ABOUT ME I have been teaching for Eighteen years. I taught eighth grade at Meridian Middle School and I have been here since the schools was opened in 2000. I have been coaching for eleven years, mainly in cross country, and a couple of years of track. I enjoy teaching, reading, and being in middle school.
