3. What is SIFE? Last year, SIFE Thompson Rivers was the largest student organization on campus, with 80 students dedicating over 13,812 volunteer hours to redefine the lives of 229 people in need in Kamloops.

4. What is SIFE? This year, we want to make an even bigger impact with your help. We run community programs based on real, local needs. With your university acquired skills, we aim to increase the standard of living and quality of life in Kamloops.

5. What We’ve Accomplished Every year, SIFE Thompson Rivers competes against 61 other teams from universities across Canada. In our team’s 11 year history, we’ve taken home 21 awards. Last year, we earned 5 awards! -2012 Regional Champions – Go Green Challenge -2012 Regional Champions – Entrepreneurship -2012 Regional Runner- up – Financial Literacy -2012 Let's Can Hunger Urgent Hunger Relief National Champions -2012 ACE National Semi-Finalist – Top 10 This year, we’re excited to build on this success and continue to strive to represent Kamloops and Thompson Rivers University at regional, national and international competitions.

7. Environomics Ensuring today’s elementary students have a sustainable tomorrow. Last year: Worked with 100 grade 6-7 students in 2 schools. This Year: Hold monthly sessions to over 200 students and expand into two more schools. Last Drop Addressing water conservation and quality needs in our region. Last Year: Provided water quality information to Savona residents This Year: With a partnership with the City of Kamloops, we will work with homes in Aberdeen with the implementation of water meters Environmental Programs

8. Entrepreneurial Programs ToolBox Building entrepreneurs out of trade students. Last Year: Partnered with KPMG, Fulton & Co. & Scoitabank, ran 1 session This Year: Expand Curriculum and work toward more sessions (every 6 weeks) Partnership with the YMCA/YWCA Thompson Rivers Consulting (TRC) Providing specialized support for client’s needs. Last Year: Jumpstarted Cherries, Chops & Chainsaws This Year: Work with TOOLBOX students continuously Expand client base

9. Balance Turning unstable situations into positive outlooks. Last Year: Combined 4 programs to create on master program Worked with 9 different audiences Redefined the lives on 79 individuals This Year: Continue to work with existing audiences Social Programs

10. micro-business Creating a sustainable revenue stream in support of our programs. Last Year: Ran 4 community events (Program Showcase, Business Affair, Year End Gala & Student Revolution Nights) This Year: Further develop these events Create a new stream of income Let’s Can Hunger Creating awareness and action against hunger. Last Year: Raised 28,444 Lbs of food This Year: Raise 30,000 Lbs of food More Programs
